You need to re-read the Ninth Amendment. The enumerated rights are NOT our only rights and there was substantial objection to the Bill for just the reason that tyrant enablers like yourself might seize upon that idea to undermine the Constitution and oppress us.

The Founding Fathers often seem prescient, and we are all very fortunate for that

I did not mean to imply they were the only rights

But the nonth should not be used by activist liberal judges to create rights either

We have trials to determine the entire circumstances that surround any law infraction; that is due process, and at the trial we can examine those circumstances to see if they warrant mercy or severity, we are not Legalist China

Numbers, not a thing can be done about if that is what the Democrats plan. It either try to cooperate, compromise or gridlock. If nothing gets passed, I can live with that. If cooperation comes about which means moderation with what is passed, I can live with that too. Besides, one doesn't have a choice.

It a fact, the Republicans can't get anything done without the Democratic House cooperating. The Democrats can't get anything done unless the Republican senate cooperates and Trump agrees. It's either cooperation, compromise or we sit here until the new House, new senate and perhaps a new president takes office in January of 2021.

Getting upset accomplishes nothing. I would suggest the Republicans and Trump try to find a way to win back independents. The Democrats still are the larger party with the larger base, the Republicans can't win unless they win the independent vote. That is reality.

Like most conservatives you want to limit our rights instead of expanding them. We are a free people, not a subjected one.

Ann Coulter is on Trump now, calling him 'yellow' for the deal.

    There goes his base.

Why not ? Trumpettes want to throw them and their families out of the country. Even legal immigrants.

    Thank you for the votes.

You mean the right to use addictive drugs?

    To kill unborn children?

To break our immigration laws and remain in this country illegally?

Liberals want rights that should not exist

How about no progress for four years?

Then next two for the democrats and then two more for republicans to stymie the dems?

Or maybe four years of repub revenge and stalemate while clueless indies try to make up their minds

I’m ok with that if you are

I have always believed that in a free country free citizens should have the right to use any drug they want.

    Unborn children aren't children

    We shouldn't have immigration laws.

Liberals want to expand citizen's rights, conservatives want to expand government's restrictions

    You are losing me now

But I will sum up for you

Migrants along the border with visas must present themselves at a US Customes border crossing

Migrants who enter the US without a a visa should be sent back to mexico the same day

And we should terminate the refugee asylum program entirely

But we already have up to 30 million illegal aliens in the country already

Pending a compromise with dems on the subject they should detained and deported when we discover them

If you and your family were equally free to sleep under a brifge and go hungry after to become a drug zombie I would agree with you

But our bleeding heart wipe-every-nose welfare system says otherwise

So I reserve the right to regulate addictive drugs

Like the man asid, a rose by a y other name will smell as sweet

Call them what you will, unborn children are onnocnt human beings and deserve protection under the law

    Finally, no immigration laws?

I guess we will just have to leave you way out in left field with that idea

It tells one thing loud and clear: people have no trouble getting over a wall.

Independents are looking for cooperation and compromise between the two parties. One taking far right ideas, the other far left and then meeting somewhere in the middle. The drift to the left and right has resulted in more folks leaving the two major parties, to pick and choose and vote against one or the other whenever they think one has gone overboard. In 2006 Democrats made up 36% of the electorate, Republicans 32%, independents 30%. Today those numbers are Democrats 30%, Republicans 26%, independents 43%, at least as of January 2018. Those numbers are dynamic and they change all the time, but the overall trend is the two major parties shrinking, independents rising. It's the two major parties own fault.

    Compromise, here.

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/220265/americans-favor-compromise-things-done-washington.aspx

Americans wanting a viable third party, a party somewhere in the middle of the two major existing parties. Here.

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/244094...utm_content=morelink&utm_campaign=syndication

Compromise worked just fine for Republican presidents up to Trump. Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, G.H.W. Bush all had a Democratic controlled House to work with. All had to have a meeting of the minds with the other party to get things done. Bill Clinton had to work six years with a Republican congress. He did accomplish a lot. Then we got Obama and Trump, neither one was or seems willing to compromise. Outside of Obama's phone and a pen, Executive Orders, he didn't accomplish a thing after the 2010 election. Having only the ACA.

Working with the other party has been the norm up and until Obama. Now it is stand your ground, no compromise, my way or the highway. Perhaps that is the times we live in today. Most politicians, presidents, parties went by the old adage, a half of a loaf is better than no loaf at all. Today that old adage has been tossed on the trash heap of history in a give me 100% of what I want, you get nothing.
