I don't understand the resistance to make a law saying late term abortion without due cause is murder. What am I missing here? It's murder if someone else kills the baby in the womb so why not if the mother does.
My feeling is they think it's the slippery slope argument. Once a mother can be charged with murder for killing a baby in her womb they fear all abortion will suddenly be up for murder charges.
I wonder if they believe a woman can give up her rights to abortion by signing a prior contract? Perhaps with the biological father, who only agrees to have a baby with her if she signs a contract not to abort it, or perhaps by another infertile couple who have hired her to be a surrogate and couldn't stand the thought of their unborn child being aborted.
