    Well yes, in a manner of speaking the Redskins name was made illegal, i.e., the US Patent and Trademark office cancelled the Redskins trademark.

    As a non-lawyer it would seem to me that no one can now use it as a protected trademark. However, I recall there was a recent SCOTUS case over a band that had a "racist" name and I believe that SCOTUS ruled that the revocation of a racist trademark was unconstitutional. So maybe any lawyers reading this discussion can weigh in.

    No lawyer here either.
    But a trademark is protected. No one else can use it in similar context. If cancelled, to me it means it's open again. But that is from a non lawyer.

    your very 1st post in this thread to me is about imprisonment. No other poster mentioned prison prior or since in this thread.

    You clearly made a wild claim. And I asked you who's been imprisoned.
    You have no answers to that because it's ridiculous statement you made.
