Borderline, although he did get very specific in his suggestion didn't he?

At the end of the day it probably depends on how important this guy is. And if someone would bother to file a civil suit. I can't imagine it being a felony...

It wouldn’t be illegal to move to Georgia, obtain a residence, and register to vote. And you bring up a good point as to why few of any people are going to do it. Would you uproot your whole life to be one one of millions of people voting in an election? How much would you spend to be able to vote?

You're thinking about poor people. Those that are richer would more than likely have a far easier time of it and would have no problem doing it.

How rich are we talking here? According to the right Biden is out to tax the rich into oblivion. Why would they move en masse to support a candidate and party that is out to get them?

Rich enough to own two homes. But you don't have to be rich either. They're just the most likely. You could rent a motel room for a couple of months (until after the runoffs) to accomplish what needs to be done. And anyone living across state lines would have no problem with the uprooting of life. Hell, you don't even have to stay there, just rent a place while staying at your real home and conduct your business as usual. Then when the election comes go vote.

So rich people are going to buy second houses, rent apartments, and motels to register to vote and then move back home. I think you know how ridiculous a proposition this is. Lets assuming people are willing to do this. How many do you think it would be. Hundreds? Thousands? Hundreds of thousands?

Come on now. We both know this is a silly nothing burger.

Sorry but you don't get to assign this to the right when no one on the right has ever suggested such a thing especially when we look at the Dems. This is about DEMOCRATS pushing for such.

So you support this or not? And I posted the GA SecState remarks on the legality.

"A spokesman for the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, which oversees voter registrations, declined to comment on how quickly someone could establish legal residency in Georgia, but cited state law that it is a felony to vote in Georgia elections if you are not a legal resident or if you are residing in the state briefly with the intention just to vote and then move away."

And it's just "silly" it very SCARY that this is lengths to which Democrats will go to win an election. They have already done everything imaginable to lower the integrity of them now just outright fraud.

As I said with all the money being raised the Reps can rent out a bunch of vacant apartment complexes along the AL, FL, SC, TN borders have people in those states come and buddy up in the apartments, supply them with food and Xboxes and Netflix then they can all vote and go back home.

Doesn’t matter who you pin it on. It’s a ridiculous suggestion that doesn’t result in a significant change to voting demographics. This is a silly nothing burger.

In theory they could. But that’s not going to happen so I won’t lose any sleep over it.

What's amazing is how partisan and gullible GOPers are.

First of all, the Dems asked Democrats NOT go come to Georgia!

The issue is that there are a few million who would move there to help doorbelli, provide support, etc.

And, Georgia Dems aren't interested in being overwhelmed like that.

Those who suck up conspiracy theories don't appear to be swayed by stuff like logic or impossibility.

What they are willing to accept is mind boggling.

False they first said they should and then saw the backlash and are trying to walk it back, and Georgia Dems will do whatever it takes to win, talk about partisan and gullible.............geezz. And it's time the Republicans played by the same rules.

It was my sarcastic response to the Dems who were proposing and those here saying it was a good idea.

Which is why I am making fun of it but we can't dismiss how scary it is Democrats proposed it. And the more power they get the more such schemes will they not only propose but put into effect.

Sure they could track you registration and residency but the Dems have backed off after the backlash. It was a stupid idea and scary to think they would come up with it as a reasonable plan.

    From your link:

"Georgia law provides that it is a felony to either register to vote knowing one does not possess the qualifications for voting in Georgia (O.C.G.A. § 21‑2‑561) or to attempt to vote knowing one does not possess the qualifications for voting in Georgia (O.C.G.A. § 21‑2‑571). Those who are found to be in violation could subject themselves to prosecution."

From the second link within your link, on O.C.G.A. § 21‑2‑217:

"(3) A person shall not be considered to have gained a residence in any county or municipality of this state into which such person has come for temporary purposes only without the intention of making such county or municipality such person's permanent place of abode;"

Which means you are correct, my apologies, but how would the state prove intent? A person could move to GA now, register to vote, cast a vote in January, stick around for a month or two, then relocate again. How would the state prove that one didn't give GA a try and decide it wasn't their cuppa? That word, intent, is a pesky thing, isn't it?
