Where do you see that? It’s about his released memos which occurred after he was fired

And possibly retaking the Senate... Johnny Isakson resigned yesterday, leaving 2 seats available in Georgia...

    Veddy Interesting...

Thoughts and Prayers for Isakson, BTW...

None of which has a thing to do with Comey being exonerated. He walked clean.

It's also about storing some of the memos in his home safe, a known target for B and E specialists looking at getting dirt on Trump...

Because he was properly worried that his firing would kill the current FBI investigations, should a Trump appointee come in and kill everything..

    Ya think?

No, my take is he felt he was losing the ability to try to get Trump out of office.

I should add, I voted Johnson, so it's not like I'm a huge supporter. I DO prefer him to Hitlery mind you.

Well Comey should not have leaked the memos, that said, I would not say he disgraced the FBI. J Edgar Hoover did far worse actions.

The IG shot down the ‘personal’ memo claim.

The DOJ would have to prove ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ and there is enough wiggle room for Comey’s lawyers to get by so no indictment but that does not mean this is finished. There is still the FISA abuse to consider.

Whereabouts?? I'm only on page 33...

I haven't read the IG conclusions, but this is in the report

In contrast, federal regulations define personal files or records as
“documentary materials belonging to an individual that are not used to conduct
    agency business.”

None of these memos was used to conduct agency business, that I can tell..

That definition does not cover the memos that were used to conduct official business which is why Comey wrote them. To specifically memorize his interaction as agreed to internally.

Agree with that... My point was that most Democrats will only defend Comey so far, after the way he torpedoed Hillary in 2016...

This is far from over. This is just one aspect showing that Comey was totally out of line. Wait until the reports on their abuse of the FISA system, their collusion to initiate an investigation into Trump without any real evidence, and their abuse of the Unmasking system violating the 4th Amendment Rights of hundreds of U.S. Citizens. This is the warm up pitch showing Comey was trash and scheming.

You lost us completely... try again...

Comey only documents 1-on-1 interactions with Trump.... There is almost no official business that should be conducted directly between these 2 men, without the AG involved.

Yup, they're keeping their powder dry and not prosecuting Comey on a marginal case, the best is yet to come.

    Agreed.

and it's obvious his intent in leaking the memos, was to undermine the election results, and hamper the new Admin.

Legally, Comey, like Trump, is cloaked in the mantle of innocence, to use Trey Gowdy's term.

    Obviously.

That said, did any rational person actually expect Comey to be prosecuted?

Anyone expecting Comey to actually be prosecuted = :roflol:

In the link provided in the OP

" though Inspector General Michael Horowitz said Comey’s "retention, handling, and dissemination of certain Memos violated Department and FBI policies, and his FBI Employment Agreement."

It wasn't just the dissemination...it was the entire process of keeping the memos as well

“And to all those who’ve spent two years talking about me 'going to jail' or being a 'liar and a leaker' —ask yourselves why you still trust people who gave you bad info for so long, including the president," Comey added.

    He’s talking to you

Isn't this old news? Maybe the report just came out, but I think this info was out for several weeks. What they are more interested in is his signing of FISA warrants along with McCabe, Yates and Rosenstein. I just read today that the IG has determined that all 4 of them were obtained illegally and since his signature is on at least 1, that is a crime. I understand that the next report is totally damning and that people like Comey had better lawyer up. He is certainly not out of the woods and neither are McCabe, Yates and Rosenstein.
