Dershowitz to Newsmax: Dems Would 'Trash the Constitution' to 'Get Trump'

Dershowitz denounced what he sees as the Jan. 6 committee's Soviet-style "show trial" and Stalin-like justice of "show me the man, and I'll find you the crime."

I think Dershowitz should take few history lesson about Soviet Union and Stalin - because what he said can be expected from President Trump, but not from an educated person.

 

The poster said dems trash the constitution, and I asked if republicans ever did the same thing.

I'm curious as to what clause this committee is violating in the constitution that demonstrates dems "trashing the constitution."

How about the forceful claims that Donald Trump is guilty over and over again on prime time national television by the committee members even though in this country you are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Not a sham congressional committee where no defense can be proffered.

 

Presumption of innocent applies in a court setting, not an investigation or committee hearing. If Trump goes to prison without a trial or defense, then your statement will apply.

 

So according to you, in any upcoming election the political party in power can create a committee under the auspices of whatever they deem acceptable, while they use it to attack their primary political opponent…. they can create a prime time television spectacle where they assert literally hundreds of times on national television that their political foe is guilty and force feed a narrative of criminal seditious guilt against their political opponent in an attempt to nosedive his chances at winning election and that’s perfectly constitutional in your mind?

 

Is Trump running this year? Didn't republicans form a committee to investigate Hunter Biden prior to the 2020 election? Did you have an issue with this?

To even attempt to compare a published report by two independent senators to a made for prime time television special where they repeatedly and for weeks on end declare trump to be a criminal is absolutely laughable.
