A living wage ....what amount is that?

I think that a person starting out without any experience should be paid what he/she is worth ... let supply and demand determine the wage not some fat cats in DC.

Four years with a BA is not undergraduate, nor $150k.
    Stafford for all.

There's a known risk in my job from which I am taxed to pay for these students who are going to increase their earnings by $1,000,000 over me. It is that risk that is a good enticement to do your best.

Well if they are not likely to fail then they are not taking an enormous risk, they two are mutually exclusive. And if I fail I am in serious risk but they don't seem to be subsidizing me.

Well there's not much negotiating in an entry level trade but you would be surprised how fast some people learn and how many with college degrees are clueless how to negotiate.

Community and even state colleges are well withing that cost. And guess what, stem the huge increases in federal funding and watch the huge increases in college tuitions drop.

First, I'm 100% for society providing K-16 education 100% paid for by all taxpayers. BUT...I'm 100% against this unless every single kid in the programs actually earns the right to have continuing education beyond 12th grade. What I see happening is society giving free under-graduate degrees, and too many kids won't be able to muster the curriculum, so society will dumb down the level of effort required to graduate. Just like we have done in K-12...IMO at least 50% of the kids who graduate today are barely capable of rudimentary knowledge and processes! If what I'm saying was not true...we would not be having this conversation...

They are starving because they don't have arable land, potable water, acceptable weather, a lack of infrastructure, a lack of farming practices, a lack of money, and many times just too many people.

The cost of reclaiming arable land is quite high assuming the materials exist in the regional area...

I see no evidence of what you are talking about.

There ARE well documented cases of for profit college scams. Trump's scam is not the only one.

If you don't think public education, specifically high school grades, have been dumbed down over the past 20 years then I understand why you would make such a statement. IMO we have 30% failing or dropping out with another 20% learning almost nothing. I believe if we have free college it will also be dumbed down in order to allow slackers to achieve a degree. And when this happens common degrees will be meaningless and worthless...

Should a 16 year old high school sophomore be given a minimum wage intended to support a family of four?

    Seems ridiculous.

What do you think is done with my investments they go under a mattress? They are invested and that money is spent and where do those companies spend that money ALL OVER THE COUNTRY building and expanding buying equipment and paying dividends. The reason wages are stagnant is because the economy has NOT been growing and increasing employment

LOL. No it isn't. It is used to buy back company stock and rain down golden parachutes. businesses are contracting their footprint. They are not "expanding all over the country". It is why local governments have to bribe them to move a plant from city A to city B.

What about the conservative option i.e. let the masses grumble in their poverty until they die of starvation or kill one another over some superficial feature in the dog-eat-dog culture fascists so enjoy inculcating in our cultures.

The cynicism of the creatures at the top of this economic and social pyramid is grotesque.

As does investing it where that wealth can grow as it is used to create more value in the economy.
