Mostly not There is not a communication necessity to be able to write **** **** ******* etc That said, when a word legitimately enters political discourse (like ***** grabber) my own opinion is that it should be allowed. Heck, I even had a post deleted for writing a similar real word to *****.... ah, the wonders of the subjective application of some supposed filter evasion rule Anyway, I guess there is no perfect set of rules that everyone would agree to so, now that I am clear on the rules, it is easy enough to circumvent those rules to. Say what ever I want For example now we can fondly remember when Donald trump bragged about being a genital grabber.... you see, is easy. If you cannot figureout how to say what you want.... perhaps you are insufficiently creative
If swearing is necessary for you to be able to communicate, you need to broaden your vocabulary. I suggest How to Increase Your Word Power.
No, of course not. The rules do. But if you don't like the rules go somewhere else. This is a privately owned forum - not a street corner. Don't like the rules of this forum, find another. There are unmoderated forums with no rules you can post on. Good luck with that.
In my opinion, anyone who starts a thread asking other people's opinion first should state their own in the OP. If the OPer finds their topic they start not even worth commenting on, why should anyone else?
That would have nothing to do with it. There is a great redundancy on the forum. Most of us regulars know what 95% of other members are going to post on any topic - and unfortunately the overwhelming majority of topics are ranting against Trump - or responding to ranting against Trump - or otherwise about Trump - all predictable. Redundant. Right now, people are against debating Martin-Zimmerman - posting everything they have posted over and over in past - all repeating ourselves over and over and over. That gets tiresome.
Not too much. First of all, there are several ways around it, and second you can usually manage to convey a meaning without the use of a certain particular word. We're not talking about Chinese-style word filters though, where they will filter out names to try to prevent certain specific incidents from being discussed.
Yeah I saw that thread. As much as liberals CLAIM this forum is conservative things like rules, choices don't bear that out.
Word filters and taboo subjects are limits. Rats in a maze get limits. At least until the rat learns to go from A to B correctly. We are rats in a maze.
As was stated, there are other forums that don't have word filters that the unintelligent hang out in. Its not a problem for us since we don't rely on using that language to convey a point.
Forums with no rules are absolutely, 100% worthless. Just juvenile trolls and internet rage hacks for which not 1 in 1000 messages is anything but screaming obscenities, threats and accusations, and punk messages - nothing else. Why are you on this forum? There are piles of anything-goes forums you can post on.
I prefer SOME rules. But word censors are not one of them. I know proper words...but I am here and online to be free...to express myself the way I want to do it. Being censored in the avenue of words is not my cuppa. But...this place has its own beach and own waves. Whatever floats their boat, says I. Like Jake said..if I want to cuss a blue streak...I know where I can go. When I want to avoid nastiness, I also know where I can go. It would be nice to have a place where I don't have to remember which rules/TOS goes with which board...because I visit a lot of them and its hard to keep them all straight.
No. I remain free to say anything I want, free to type anything I want, even free to submit to a website anything I like. The owners/managers of a website are free to publish (or not) anything they like too though. If you don't like the rules and restrictions here, you're free to find another site whose rules are more in line with your preference or find an route to publish yourself.
LOL I still can't get over when I once wrote 'pu55y-footing' (def: being overly cautious?) and it appeared as *****-footing. Seems like all profanities are okay except female-related ones.
Of course not being able to say things restricts your speech, but if you're speaking on other people's dime you have no right to speak.
