Electoral College chooses the President

The poll shows more about the character of people more than anything. People only like democracy when they win. Otherwise they hate it and will try to justify ignoring it. The electoral college is how we decide, and it is a much better method than using the popular vote. The Electors should represent the people of thier states. And I'm sure they overwelmingly will.

People will be angry. They will get over it. Life moves on.

before you discuss such things, make fist a proper voting system which guarantees that in every of the 50 states only US citizens are able to vote!
What do I mean? How the hack can it be that you have in this and that state not to show your US identity card or passport to legitimate you as US citizens when wanting to give your vote at the election centers?
How can it be that here and there only the driving license is enough ... which can right there also be earned by Non-US citizens if living legally as foreigner in the USA (not to include illegals)?

Given that the electors are generally party activists the likelihood of 21 of them changing their vote is all but nil especially so when - as previously stated - a number of them cannot legally do so.

Why would they vote for someone not a Republican? The electors for Florida are Republicans. Why would they vote against their own best interests? Some states require electors to vote for the state winner.

After Obama won in 2012, Hillary was the presumed candidate by the DNC and because of that, the Clintons wielded a lot of power. That power is gone now. How long before her cronies start to sing?

I wonder if any of these civics geniuses even know how the electoral college works. There are 2 slates of electors in each state Democratic and Republican. What this so called petition would have to do is persuade 35 electors from States that went GOP to defect to Hillary. Not only that but 30 of the 50 States have laws preventing "faithless electors" by imposing penalties ranging from a fine to a felony charge. While faithless electors do happen on occasion you should remember most electors are selected by the political party for their party loyalty, and many are party leaders. To switch their vote to Hillary would not only possibly cause them to be fined or go to jail but would also be political suicide

Trump won those four games - PERIOD! More specifically, he will end up winning 30 states to Clinton's 20 states - or 60% vs. only 40%. The final electoral tally will likely end up being 306 to 232 - or 57% of the electoral votes...which is pretty close to the 60% of the states he won.

We have that system for a very valid reason - regardless of whether or not any of us like it. Our Founding Fathers were wise enough to warn us of the perils of a "democracy" - that's why they gave us a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!
We are not now, nor have we EVER been a democracy! We started of as a confederation of states after we declared our independence, then we ratified our founding document: The United States Constitution. Take a look in our Constitution; NOWHERE will you find the word "democracy" or any variation thereof! The reason is simple really: Our Founding Fathers were smart enough to actually LEARN from history, (You know...ancient Greece and all?), which has proven time and time again that democracies fail under their own weight due to empty promises made to a largely UNINFORMED and APATHETIC public who are easily swayed by the illusion of some sort of grand Utopian existence...if you'll just vote for us. Leftists truly believe that socialism has only failed because THEY weren't the ones running it! Socialism and/or "democracies" fail because the very concept of a purely "majority rules" system is a failure!
That's why we were given the Electoral College. It guarantees that the people all across our Nation from the smallest towns to the big cities have their votes count on more of an equal footing than simply allowing the large population centers to control a majority vote cast by collectivists who congregate with ONLY like-minded others.
Liberals are always (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about our system - especially when it works against them. There is a solution, however: change it! All you need is 292 Representatives in the House to approve a change...and 67 Senators to approve a change...and 38 US States to ratify the change - and POOF! - it becomes a Constitutional Amendment and you'll get your way, my precious little cupcakes!
But here's a warning you might want to heed: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR!
Majority Rule is MOB RULE, folks! That's why we, as a Republic, don't operate that way. It might be hard for an infantile mind to understand this, but some things are in place for your own good...even though you may not like it at first - or ever!
