Funny they did that in Australia and only got 20% of the known totals so.... probably not but you keep thinking that.

Yes, you obviously need a high-powered rifle to deal with tweakers, who are no doubt wearing the latest body armor. Not that it matters because everyone knows tweakers are impervious to handguns and shotguns anyway. Right?

When illegal gun roundups start, as was the case after Katrina, firepower is needed.

I have to add that (as I have posted before in these gun control discussions) I know 4 people who have experienced home invasions.

What type of regulation does buying a used weapon require? Any paperwork? An ID?

Would you like me to quote some of the hundred or so mass shooting recently?

If you buy it from a dealer it does. If you buy or receive a firearm from a private party no.

Regulations on guns are useless. We have to concentrate on identifying the “shooters” before they act and get them treatment.

Ok, so back to your original statement that “firearms have much more regulation than voting does”, how do you reconcile that with what you just posted (I placed it in bold to make it easier to see)

    We need to do both
    • be able to track firearms and hold the owners accountable for negligence
    And
    • Try to identify shooters before they try and kill a bunch of school children

Tracking firearms after the fact accomplishes nothing.

What negligence ??? What negligence has been involved in any of the recent events ???

No you need a higher powered weapon for tweakers because they're all hopped up on the mountain dew and will come at you like a spider monkey

Of course. They're immune to everything except high-powered rifle bullets, which is why you always hear stories of people firing whole clips into them, only to have to reach for their trusty assault rifle at the last moment and get the head shot. And I hear that some of them even have vibranium shields these days.

Wait a minute, who is it you're afraid of again? Zombies? Agents in the Matrix?

Non criminal gun owners tend to be extremely responsible. There should be no record of who owns firearms. That would make it too easy for the government to confiscate weapons in the case of an uprising, which is the entire point of the 2A, to keep the government in check.

So what’s stopping the government isn’t that there is three guns for every of age US citizen but it’s because they don’t know where they are?

    That’s beyond logic.

Most back gun restrictions after shootings

Just goes to prove that the average person is dumb. And half the people are dumber than that.

I'd point out that practically nobody with an NFA licensed weapon ever uses it in crime, so maybe you should go down the route of basic regulation before you jump straight to a ban.

In Australia for instance you can get semi-automatic handguns used at the deadliest US school shooting of all time, with a 6 month club membership.

Yet we don't have Virginia Techs.

You can get an M16A2 from a gun store, with ~20 grand and a loooooot of checks and conditions.

To me it's curious that they aren't really talking all that much about moving class 3 NFA weapons into the prohibited category, only modern sporting rifles.

Because I not only have a brain but use it and can see further out than the tip of my nose, I know taking guns away won't solve anything.

Hateful thugs will always find a way to kill people. Guaranteed if guns are taken away from ordinary people who simply want them to defend their homes, psychopaths hellbent on killing will either buy them on the street or use other measures like bombs, poisons, their cars, etc. The only thing taking them away will accomplish is make the average person more vulnerable to home invasions. Especially at a time when drugs are flowing freely through our streets from the southern border.

And can you imagine how emboldened pedophiles will become then? Bust down the door, kill or beat down dad, grab the kids and go. Wouldn't be anything to stop them so why not?

As far as auto rifles are concerned, banning them from the street is one thing but not from homes. Imagine a couple thugs at the door carrying them and all the homeowner has is a handgun.

Imagine the government going rogue hellbent on throwing out the constitution and changing to a dictatorship socialist regime with wide open borders which the left is pushing for now. The people will need to fight back or become starving sheep in the streets like those in Venezuela. Bringing a handgun to that fight when they will have fully automatics would be suicide.

Something needs to be done alright but blaming the instrument used won't solve anything.

Lets try looking past what is being presented. The same methodology that has produced accurate results in the past have also been wrong. In the last year, how many robo-calls, scam calls has the public received? Are people more likely or less likely to answer an unidentified caller? The percentage of people willing to answer these calls is drastically decreasing. Do you answer unidentified calls?

What about at a gun trader event — we have four a year near my residence and they advertise that there are no background checks for used weapons — or online?

They would probably not try that s*** in West VA where I live. For one thing, it is illegal (State law) to confiscate guns in an emergency such as Katrina. Secondly, it is legal in WV to use deadly force to stop a felony, such as someone forcing their way into your house to illegally take your gun(s). Thirdly, most people in West VA own guns. To confiscate most guns in WV, the authorities would have to use SWAT teams to conduct home invasions (otherwise known as dynamic entries) of almost every residence. Of course as liberals flee MD and Northern VA to come to WV things are subject to change.
