"I own and legaly carry a gun concealed, because a cop is too heavy".

"And because of our Constitution, is the United States a Great place to live, or what"?

"We live in a nation where the majority of men and women can live with the freedom of choice".

"Those that do not have that same luxury, is because they choose not to have it". "So take you medicine, and accept your lifestyle of misery".

I see,.... because you SAY it was "debunked". How convenient for you. I can only wonder if you use that response in all your discussions.

His response (ian's) has merit and I stand by that.

Argument by slogan is a fallacy. Try something more valid.

I only use the term debunk when it is absolutely appropriate.

Then you need to reevaluate your stand on this because your "debunking" actually fell far short.

You argued that guns aren't "promoted to consummate manhood", but admitted that you don't "watch TV". Hardly compelling, no? How exactly would you KNOW then if guns were being promoted in such a fashion if you don't even watch this medium???

Furthermore, you claimed that his "take on history is clearly distorted", but offered no proof of this accusation. Once again, hardly compelling and certainly not close to a debunking in any sense of the word. So, again you claimed that his post was "debunked" because you SAID it was debunked. Hardly a noteworthy approach, I'd say.

I dont need to watch tv to know what I said is true, I live in the U.S and I get out enough to be familiar with what is promoted on the large scale. This person is not from america and is clearly under a misapprehension. He questions americans suspicion of big government. If this is beyond him then I would deem it a mere distortion of history, I admit I could be wrong, it could be historical ignorance.

If you are attempting, as you are here of claiming that someone else is wrong about a promotion of guns in this country, and your response is that you don't watch TV, but that its not promoted on TV, is simply the epitome of inanity. Your whole argument and so-called "debunking" is nothing more than a schoolyard "nu-huh!" Pretty weak, really.

Once again, you are using the mistaken assumption that by simply SAYING that something is so,.... that it somehow automatically makes it so. Critical thinking demands far more than that. Hopefully this is not beyond your capabilities.

Telling americans to turn their tv's off was what sparked me to say that I do not partake in this form of entertainment. My stance on what is promoted and my knowledge thereof does not hinge on me watching tv as you have been saying. The rest of this vacuitous post is distorted and it makes sense as my take on how his homeland operates is likely a bit ofF as well.

But everyone does have a right to bear arms. I guess convicts and the criminally insane shouldn't have equal rights as law abiding citizens.

You give up your rights when you try to hurt other people, at least that's how US Law is set up.

That's precisely what I have done, friend. When you first aired your "argument" on this I succinctly and specifically addressed it here.

I don't recall that you have been able, as yet to address these flaws in your argument, try as you might to distract us from this glaring reality. If I mis-quoted you anywhere, then you are free to correct me. You have not done this either.

I have shown your contradictions in your argument with your OWN words. Do YOU care to practice what you preach and be relevant with what you HAVE said and not what you "would like it to be" ?

If you read the above, the thread you praised, it mentions turning TVs off. Thats what prompted me to say I do not watch TV. Do you now understand? The post never mentioned guns being promoted on television, it was more or less an attempt at calling americans ignorant due to too much television entertainment. You took the mention of television and twisted it into me not knowing about something due to the
fact that I had stated I did not watch it.

Right you are. Guns have been used just as often to enslave.

All the more reason to own one. we must be able to fend off nefarious oppressors at all costs. I have a compound with fallout bunker, and lots of fire power. Noone will dare attempt to commit crime near the compounds premise.

I don't believe that he was implying anything about "television entertainment", friend.

The fact remains that you claimed to have "debunked" something that you clearly did not. The sum total of your "debunk" was in claiming that you don't watch TV and that the other poster's "take on history is clearly distorted", but offered no proof of this accusation. Once again, hardly compelling and certainly not close to a debunking in any sense of the word.

So, once again, you claimed that his post was "debunked" merely because you SAID it was debunked. Hardly a noteworthy approach, I'd say.

He was refering to the alleged brainwashing of americans by corporations and referenced too much TV as a sort of implication that americans are too concerned with trivial items to notice that they are being brainwahed. If you didnt think it regarded Television entertainment why was it such a focal point for you? You simply made something out to be something it wasnt, perhaps you were reading too fast. Pages ago I pointed out the stupidity of the post in question, that is what the word debunk means. Whether gun advocate or anti gun, most people would agree that the particular post was pretty empty and devoid of any merit pertaining to the OP.

Yah...Countires like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, All of Europe and South America, Asia.
They don't have one thing we Americans have. A Written Constitution from any of the historic past.
Because countries around the world have all ruled by over-powering rulers, dictators, kings, socialist and communist goverments.
Even as most still have controlling goverments.

So as of today they all continue too envie the Americans......Awesome.

You know this, eh? Interesting take.

TV isn't always "entertainment", friend. There is so-called news as well. Both of which have depicted guns in a favorable light in this country, but then again I suppose you wouldn't know that... not being a watcher and all. The other poster mentioned TV as a component in this which you dutifully admitted to not watching. This is what made it worthy of noting. You missed this, I guess.

    You're not paying attention friend.

Once again,...... CALLING something stupid does NOT make it so. I don't know how else to say this in plain English for you. I have quoted the post that you referred to above and it is entirely devoid of ANY logical argument against his observations. Once again the extent of your so-called "debunking" was to state that you don't watch TV AND that he didn't know history. THAT"s IT!

Apparently you are not apprised as to the meaning of "debunk". The dictionary defines it thus: "Expose the falseness or hollowness of (a myth, idea, or belief)". Eh,...... calling something stupid does NOT meet this bar, friend.

So, once again (third or fourth time now?) you have ignored the flaw of the REST of your post where you claimed that his "take on history is clearly distorted", but offered no proof of this accusation. Again, this does NOT meet the bar of a "debunking". Get it?

The post in question, the one you praised, the poster who claims freedom was invented, the poster who says the people who sell guns are controlling corporations to brainwash americans from childbirth that owning the biggest and deadliest firearm is what makes one a man, that post when referencing TV as I quoted above said turn off your tv's and get out more. As if to say because of TV and other means of entertainment (television is considered a part of that category, the news not excluded) is causing people to lose sight of reality and allow the gun manufacturers and corporations to control them. Now you praised this particular post so I assume you agree with this. I do know as I have heard from many that there are more liberal and left leaning people on the news these days which would not promote guns in a good light. I know fox news is considered the right wing news station. I know this without watching tv, just like I know about the french revolution but wasnt there to actually see it. I dont see why this was such a focal point for you. The poster called freedom an invention, like its a lightbulb, or an iron, I pointed this out. The comment was ridiculous. Most people probably realized this and didnt even bother responding to such nonsense. However, by pointing this out, pointing out this vacuitous nonsensical bilge, I feel, is worthy of being debunked.

Yeah well most people didnt because i got a ton of rep for that particular post. What you are really smarting about is the criticism of everything you have been brainwashed into thinking most of your life. And I wouldnt talk about empty or devoid posts if I was you since this is what most of what your posts contain.

Incorrect, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Europe most of S. America and Asia do have constitutions. Another massive fail for you there Dixie boy. In fact you were factually incorrect 7 times in 2 sentences. This could be some type of internet record I think.

Im always a little surprised at the arrogance of some people who declare that they instinctively "know things" without actually reading, studying or acquiring this alleged knowledge by some other legitimate means such as from their own legitimate experincces or learning from someone who actually does know something. How does this work? It seems to be a position unique to right wing gun fanatics.

So danct gave you a few rep points how nice of him. The problem is, theres more brainwashing going on in the U.S to convince people that guns are evil, unnecessary, and lead to crime. Thats the common brainwashing going on in the U.S. The reason I call it brainwashing, ( a cliche I typically do not use by the way) is because most of the information and statistics employed are fraudulent. Micheal Moores bowling for columbine was propaganda if there ever was any.
The thing is, people really feed into it. Your perception is simply a bit off is all. Since the founding of the country there has been a right to bear arms for obvious reasons pertaining to the struggle which was overcome to found the U.S. Over time however, more and more people have promoted an anti gun stance.

All evidence points to the fact that a higher rate of private gun ownership leads to higher rates of violence and homicides, this evidence has been posted so many times its getting a bit boring. Michael Moore is irrelevant to this discusssion and you just proved my point about brainwashing by immediately reverting to a sensationalised documentary in order to refute my claims.
Not my perception, I have studied ths subject comprehensively and have an extensive background in law enforcement.
