I don't expect Biden's economic performance to compare well to Trump's.

If you want the people to have confidence in election results, it's clear that there is work to be done by our legislators.

Man it’s almost like focusing all the gop hate on the governor and SOS (both republicans) is a bad way to win senate seats.
No contest in who trump attached more in the last 2 months!

He has ripped this country apart along party lines. Turned small town residents against each other. inflamed racial tension, promoted abject greed and amoral stances, and has left this country morally bereft.
Oh, and he effed up the covid response pretty bad too (mostly due to his moral corruption more than any thing else. He could have been a leader, instead chose that opportunity to divide people uniquely on poitical grounds and try to score political points. The actual medical response deserves a solid C+)

My point is easily illustrated. By the end of 2021 what legislative accomplishments do you predict will be signed into law?

In 12 months we'll revisit your reply.

Just for the record would you please elaborate on what these "lessons" that you "need to learn" are all about?

It will be difficult for the Biden administration, given the pandemic....

Watching from afar, and being very grateful our political system doesn't have the same issues, I think your whole political system needs to be overhauled. Neither Democrat nor Republican will like what I suggest, which means I'm on the right path. My ideas are:

    • mandatory voting
    • set up an independent and totally impartial commission that oversees all elections in the country
    • only vote on a weekend when there's no sporting event to clash with the election
    • have sausage sizzles and cake stalls at the polling booths
    • shorten the campaigns to a swift 12 weeks. No-one wants all these stupid primaries and stuff. They're boring
    • The Electoral College. WTF?? Get rid of it. It's pointless
    • Why do candidates who are usually millionaires need to raise 100 zillion dollars from people who are probably struggling doing five jobs to pay their rent? Stop the grifting.
    • Restrict political advertising so that there's a blanket ban on it about 48 hours before an election (dunno, maybe that already happens)
    • While the US Bill of Rights is an amazing document, I think the Constitution needs to be dragged kicking and screaming out of the 18th century. The long period between a presidential election and the inauguration just lends itself to trolling from the Trumps of this world...
    • have I mentioned democracy sausages yet?

I probably have more ideas. I'll save them till Joe Biden sees this post and can assure me he's implemented everything....

Hopefully, something more "substantial" than that "Wall" that Trump Promised in 2016.

    What happened to that?

Wasn't Trump going to REPEAL Obamacare?

    What happened to that?

I have no need to predict the future.

    I will take whatever comes.

I am just glad that America survived 4 Years of that Unhinged (Trump) Imbecile.

Oh, and Back on Topic, Ossoff's Lead has jumped to over 12k Votes.

He's not even sworn in and already you are making excuses?
    Unconstitutional
The Constitution charges the Legislatures with election law.
    Unconstitutional
    Unconstitutional
    It prevents domination by cities.
We have the means to amend it, so start working on your state legislature asking them to call for a Constitutional Convention to draft amendments for ratification per article V.
The president has no constitutional role in the amendment process.

Maybe gender programs is a clever code word for family planning? I read somewhere that those who talk about blacks and plantations, and talks about females as though the vast majority aren't intelligent (unless they have the hots for Trump) do have a bit of a weird thing about trying to interfere in family planning programs in third world countries....

Considering the economy Trump is passing Biden, I doubt it too, the Trump crash is coming

it's got easier for Biden to respond though, at least Senate republican have to vote now, so the public can see where they stand and if they try to harm the recovery

McConnell losing some power is much needed

Trump spent more in four years than any other President in history.... that doesn't happen during a great economy

TECHNICALLY that is correct but in REALITY Lincoln was DIRECTLY INVOLVED in the PASSAGE of the 13th Amendment.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirteenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

The role might NOT be defined in the Constitution itself but it is CLEAR that whomever occupies the Oval Office has a PART in the process itself.

Tough one, I'd go with mandatory registration. Given at birth like a social security number. You still have to register your address though but you can do that online. Mail ballot requests to everyone registered and use the non-deliverable to purge lists. If you get purged you still have your number and can vote in a polling place.

    • Good luck with that.

        • Absolutely. And you could send back coupons for them as receipt of ballot for those that vote by mail so they know their vote made it OK.

      • Early voting solves that.

    • Agreed. Sparsely populated states are already over represented in the Senate.
I'd rather that any campaign ad that attacks an opponent all costs for rebuttal should be born by those that made the attack. Perhaps we could get to more of why I'm the one for you and less of why he isn't.

Eh? Don't much care but if it floats your boat then why not?
Since it's not a parliament a transition period is not a bad thing.

You have and it can't be over stressed.

Not go but lose power. As I said, 1st among equals. It works in the Supreme Court.

    I disagree.
America kicked trump several times in his life for his family’s attempts at discrimination, considered him a source of comedy relief in society with his gold plated toilets and ridiculous vanity combover and pushed him into Russia’s hands when the US banks got tired of lending him money to finance his bankrupt schemes.
He is a malignant narcissist with a sadistic streak who delights in punishing his perceived enemies.
He has absolutely no respect for the office of potus and resents most people in the US and hates our institutions that stand up for the rule of law. His cult is nothing more than a gang of poorly educated useful idiots in his mind.
He has no love of country and is actively trying to tear us apart now because he can’t deal with his humiliating public failure.
I truly hope he is indicted for his crimes and is completely ruined after watching his behavior since the election.
I also want to see his lapdogs in Congress defeated and his cult repudiated by all decent Americans.
Turning Georgia blue may be the first shot in the war to get rid of the maga traitors.

Pfft! A tiny and insignificant hurdle. One thing everyone should have learnt from Trump is the President has total authority! Like, bigly total authority. If the Constitution doesn't say what a President wants it to say, all they need to do is ignore it and tweet the opposite of what it says. If a President says the VP has the authority to toss out EC votes that didn't go their way, despite what the Constitution says, then a Twitter post liked by approx 200k mindless lemmings and Russian bots will cement that authority....

The single biggest thing that would affect the nation’s confidence in election results would be for trump to stop lying. For him to have the courage and decency to admit he lost fair and square.

But he is delusional. A pathological liar who has no courage and no decency.

So he will keep lying, his supporters will keep believing his lies and confidence in elections will be eroded. That is the cancer that is trump.

The fact is that if they both lose, it’s all because of trump and his behavior since the election.
Maybe some in the maga crowd will get a clue that the rest of the country finds their messiah to be a disgusting maggot.

Unlikely. They’ll make excuses for him and claim the election was stolen.

    Trumpsters are allergic to facts.

    Donald Trump
stated on January 2, 2021 in a phone call with Georgia's Secretary of State:

“We won Georgia easily. We won it by hundreds of thousands of votes.”

Did Trumpers even know there was a runoff? Lack of turnout and I'm not seeing any links to OANN showing grainy videos of unmarked vans and affidavits of fake ballots or Dominion voting machines changing votes.

You’ll have to wait until the Rs definitely lose before those kinds of videos surface. They wouldn’t want to cast doubt on the results until they’re sure they lost.
