Martin is an co-executive producer so these changes likely have his approval.

In my opinion they need to start flash backs or something. I think viewers need to know what lead to Robert's Rebellion and also what occurred during it. All of the main characters need some back round, it helps round out who they are and explain why they are they way they are in the present.

That's upsetting. I wouldn't have thought it given his intensive editorial process with the books.

You're correct. Arya was put to work in the Wailing Tower kitchen (I had to look this up) under the steward Weese, who she adds to her list. I actually don't mind the change because it is slight and gives a little more glimpse into Tywin's thought processes.

I'm guessing that they will be introduced in the 3rd season. The 3rd book is going to span 2 seasons of episodes. My guess is that they will introduce Bran's POV at this point and the Reed's will enter the game.

I'm a bit "meh" on this part.

I agree, it's a great addition. When I read the book, I was fuming at how STUPID Rob Stark was to ride away to war and end with a bride from some house that wouldn't even advance his kingdom AFTER being pledged to a house that was important to the success of his war effort. It really lowered my empathy with this character. It was like "What are you thinking man!" Another Stark failure...

It's good that the show is developing the back-story because it helps vent some of the incredulity that he would create such a ridiculously unpolitic and disastrous move.

Yeah, I'm guessing that the Crows and the Wildlings meet again after John Snow has had a chance to "mingle" with them a bit. This will make John's "turn" more believable in my eyes so it works for me.

The forum needs a spoiler tag.

I missed the part where they introduce or mention the Boltons. Obviously neither Roose nor Ramsey Bolton were ever on my list of favorite characters, however the family is important to the story, especially Ramsey the sociopath.

I hope so, Bran and company still should be coming back to Winterfell so hopefully Meera and Jojen will come into the picture then before they set off for the wall.

What happens to Rob still upset me even though in the book you are not really made to fall him love with him. He is hardly mentioned and never has a point of view chapter. I know all of the characters in the book are far more mature than kids today their age, but King Rob is only 16 who can blame him for letting his heart and little head make a few unwise decisions.

Jon only "turns" because the half hand makes him promise to do so when they become trapped, you are completely aware that is the case in the book. I don't remember that being a surprise. The scene when the half hand makes Jon kill him shouldn't be left out. Its one of those moments like Ned getting his head off.

I read the first three books, and bought the fourth, but I'm not buying or reading any more until George RR Martin finishes the series. I'm worried that he is going to pull a Robert Jordan on me.

The TV series is awesome. Very similar to the books, but I hope changes by season 4 because I heard that book sucks.

Pull a Robert Jordan...aka die? That's pretty brutal. RJ has someone finishing up the series for him and it's actually not bad.

They escaped Winterfell, but remember Theon was tracking them.

Can anyone who has read the books explain the Zombie's in the end to me please (without giving too much away please). Who were they? Where did they come from? Are they the same people who John Snow (sp?) was captured by?

I haven't read the books, but, I believe you are referring to "White Walkers"

There was supposed to have been a zombie invasion, or maybe they're just magical bad guys...from a thousand years or so before present date on Game of Thrones. And I believe that is the whole idea behind "The Wall", which was supposed to keep them in the frozen north.

I may be completely wrong, but in the first episodes, Ned Stark was worried they were back.

I did, and I remember that the men were attacked past the wall by the creatures, but my question is, where did they come from? Why are the zombie like?

I think that's one of the central themes to the entire series; where and why are walkers here and how can they be defeated?
