We were talking about all the children in foster care. 1 or 2 parents gets them out of foster care.

 

well if the couple is gay, then the child only has one parent. Because gay people are not yet able to be married in many places.

MANY of those children's parents ARE HOMOSEXUALS!

So. . .should they be taken away from their BIOLOGICAL parents, just because their biological parents are homosexuals?

What about all those biological parents who abuse and neglect their children, all those millions cases being investigated DAILY by millions of CPS workers. . . who are still blamed when a terrible case of child abuse or death happens, because they don't "investigate" or "follow up" enough with the LIMITED RESOURCES they get and with the hurdles put in their way because of people like you who believe that NOTHING can be better than a child staying or being reunited with his biological parent/s EVEN IF there has been a documented history of abuse!

This is why CPS has now so many "Children advocates" who keep a close track of how a child does with his biological parents (when CPS had to take the child away due to abuse or endangerment) and write reports to the Court to help a judge make the RIGHT decision whether or not to allow a reunification or to separate the child from his biological parents for ever.

 

You seem to know something about protective services. I might have mentioned that I worked as a CPS investigator and foster care supervisor for 26 years in N.J. Fortunately, NJ is a state where gays have been allowed to adopt for a long time now, long before same sex marriage was even on the radar. That includes second parent adoption. I placed kids in foster care and for adoption after the straight bio parents screwed them up. Gay parents have provided a valuable service in this state. When people on here say things like "it's selfish for gays to want to adopt, because they're only doing it for their own gratification" it makes me sick! The ones that I've known, in fact all foster and adoptive parents are the most selfless people around. I am so sick of this moronic bovine excrement from certain people here that I could scream. Then, when called on the fact that there are many more kids in the system than there are homes for them, he has the gall to say" Gays can already adopt in all 50 states" (Actually gay single people can in all stats except Fla.) but fails to mention that in many states a couple cannot adopt a child together from an agency, nor can a second parent adopt biological child of a partner. Yet to him, all I just fine the way things are....no need for marriage or changes to the adoption laws. So much for family values or real concern for the kids. It's nothing but bigotry, and it's cowardice as well because they don't have the spine to say what they really believe. I'm finished now
