Looking at the numbers alone don't always tell the whole story. My state (AR) has several days of huge spikes, but it was due to mass testing that was done at the prison where there was an outbreak. More than a quarter of my states total cases are from that prison. Also, how did testing increase and what was the positivity rate? Did that rate increase? A lot of unknowns.

We have less than ten cases my area beachside Florida. There are probably some neat maps out there for each state, might want to look for yours.

That's because testing is beginning to catch up with the infected and not because more people are being infected. What you need to pay attention to are the deaths. Have they also leaped forward or are they mostly remaining static in that state? Oh and are the deaths truly COVID-19 caused or are the officials pulling a New York City and calling everything short of known murder or a drive by shooting a virus related death?

Well what did you think was going to happen, IMMUNITY from hiding in a hole? It's a virus man, and it aint gonna die out unless your immune systems kills it.. Think of it as a personal accomplishment!

My area gets about 10 million tourists, if we were open, and beachside residents don't make up anything close to the mainland where almost all the cases in my county are, that's were Votran mass transit mainly is...most office buildings...

Catch it by the nose or from eating it, has some difference than inhaling it in the lungs, it could be like mild one way and deadly the other. Urban areas like Fulton County Georgia, with office buildings and MARTA, certainly would have more cases of airborne than from picking nose, I would suspect Fayette County (see map provided above, has NO MARTA) gets more from shoving a finger up the nose than from airborne. Gwinnett, rejected MARTA, but they used it like crazy, drive to it (a station near 285).

Death rates have a lot to do with protection, and how they got it, probably by where they are.

What I dislike about these bullshit data sheets the RECOVERY is always a chore to find! Here's Florida's state page and you cant even find the stat in it. You would think it would be front and center on every data sheet, I guess recover is not important ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

    Positive Residents
    33,829

    Positive Non-Residents
    899

    Total Cases
    34,728

    Deaths
    1,314

    Positive Residents Out of State

It uses the mucous membranes in your throat to spread, so logically once in the throat it can easily spread to the lungs.. Even if entered threw the eyes the next stop is the throat and mucous membranes.. It's just good or bad luck if it enters the lungs but it always enters eye, mouth or nasal..

I keep saying: This is going to happen. Whether we open up now, a year from now, two years from now. We really need to swallow and accept this. This deadly virus is now part of the ecosystem. Even if we all stayed at home until a vaccine, it's not like they'll personally visit every home to vaccinate us. No, we'll have to go to our doctors and pharmacy which means TRAVEL and get them.

Get it? There's no running from this. We've got to face it and confront it, with new medical means each and every day as they test stuff out, with social distancing, washing our hands, etc.

That link shows testing as well. Was there a big jump in testing in Georgia?

    No?

    Oh...

What I thought...was that exactly this would happen. More infections. More deaths...and ultimately a longer lockdown for everyone

That is NOT the case. South Korea, Taiwan, and many other places have shown that lock down can WORK. Keep infections low. Open up slowly and carefully once infections have slowed. Test AGGRESSIVELY so that we can isolate new cases.

We do NOT have to accept a million or two million deaths

You need to calm down. That column shows testing numbers overall and for a single day, so how are you looking at that number and determining that any area did or did not have an increase in testing.

Why would you think differently? I have told you two dozen times that you and others are only prolonging the inevitable ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

Just stay in the house, you be fine! Somehow, all this cooped up stuff doesn't seem all that new to you..

    A. It shows the previous day...and there's been no significant change]

    B. I've been watching this site for weeks

    C. The number is SO low it would have had to be almost nonexistent previously.

But hey...you couldn't even find the right column so I wouldn't expect you to understand any of that

    That is absolutely WRONG.

If the virus is running rampant...there IS no place to hide. Keep infections low and we have a CHANCE

LOL so you determined the testing numbers based on one day before and came to the conclusion that they did not increase testing.

All that indoor air is getting to you?

Not accurate either. but fair enough point.. You could theoretically hide from it, you have proved that right? But the reality is, even if you manage to avoid it you will eventually contract it, or die of natural causes in the comfort of your little sterile prison ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

    Everyone is getting exposed.
    Deal with it.

Are you giving up every good or service that "essential workers" provide that you to stay comfortably in your home quaking with fear, or are you happy to let them all get exposed so you can have a full belly and the comforts of all the goods and services essential workers provide?

Let's dispense with this bull **** right now.

"Herd immunity" is achieved at 70% infection rate. So off the bat we are not ALL going to get it.

At that point there just isn't enough infection around to infect that many people.

And as we APPROACH that figure there is less and less of it around...making it safer for those who have not gotten it

We can approach that figure quickly by "opening up" and killing hundreds of thousands of the most vulnerable ( folks over 50..anyone with ANY kind of medical issue...) or we can do it over time...meaning that there are fewer chances for those uninfected to get it.

Not to mention the fact if we approach that number slowly...there is the possibility of a vaccine

So take your fatalism somewhere else.

    It's bullshit
