He had no problems with alcohol - neverthelless Germany has very serios problems with alcohol. I guess in Germany he had turned water into fruit juice. Some Germans are drinking alcohol as if they would be guests on a marriage 5 times a day 7 days a week and 104 weeks a year.

First: No German who is not a Nazi or Commie would write "Deutsche Jugend" instead "deutsche Jugend" - the expressoon "Deutsche Jugend" is very similiar with "Hitlerjugend" (HJ) and/or "Freie Deutsche Jugend" (FDJ). The combination of the german flag with the prussian flag is also disgusting. I guess you have some problems

Second: Alcohol is a very serios problem in the german society - completly independent wether you, your father or your uncle are thinking it is normal to drink some beers in the weekend. What is normal? One of my friends from Swabia drank in his whole life only one glas of wine. Afterwards he felt ill and so he decided not to drink alcohol anymore. I would say this is a completly normal behavior. He said in very simple words "Why should I drink alcohol if I feel ill afterwards"? He was by the way one of the most funny guys - he needed absolutelly no alcohol to relax or to have fun.

You have a problem with FDJ now?

This is not the Prussian flag, this is the flag of the Reichswehr.

Just like Reichskriegsflagge it could be a replacement for the Nazi flag in right-wing circles, but I don't know enough about their symbols. Yes, the German far right has replacements of Nazi symbols or flags, because Nazi symbols and flags are illegal in Germany.

It didn't work for the Taliban.

Sure I have. It's nothing else than the Hitler youth in commie colors. I guess you don't remeMber any longer that no one was allowed to be not a member of the HJ or the FDJ. That's slavery.

It's what? ... Good grieve - what idiots. That's indeed the Reichswehrflagge of the republic of Weimar! Is this compatible with heraldic laws?

I find this an interesting phernomenon. Of the 308 posts thus far, only five people identifiable as Americans have contributed about 9 or 10 posts. Of those, only one has contributed anything positive about Germans.

What (if anything) is this telling us about the predominantly American membership of this board? Is it a dislike of Germany? Is it a lack of knowledge about Germany? Or is it simply a lack of interest in any society outside US borders? :)

Very easy: If an American likes to know something about Germany he asks his german neighbor in the USA and he gets the answer Germany is somewhere in the near of Serbia or Siberia or so. Or was it Spain? ... Did you know that the name "Bieber" (see also: "Justin Bieber") comes from Germany? Not? You are not alone: http://youtu.be/mmSh5A7Eyyo

My flag is not illegal ! This flag has a little flag on the left top. So it is the flag of the Weimarer Repuplik :D:D

Jahrhundert.

After world war 1 the people were really very confused. This flag shows something of this confusion.

Please - if you like to speak German then go into a german forum. Although here's existing freedom of speech it's a minimum of courtesy to speak in a way that everyone in this forum is able to understand what we try to speak about.

Where do you have this idea from? FDJ membership was voluntary all the time. The share of FDJ members was like 80 per cent with young people in the eightees in East Germany, young folks, who did not want to join simply did not join.

Why not? Prussian symbols are legal. Why should they be not compatible with heraldic laws?

Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation uses a Prussian Eagle and it's public.

The main difference between the Prussian eagle and the eagle from Brandenburg state is the color.

No, the European section has mainly posters from Europe and Middle East. There are not many Americans here. The thread about Germany in the warfare section has more American posters. It's simply where people are used to post. There are not many Australians in this thread, too ...

Joining a sports team and play football? Playing guitar in a band? Not joining a youth organization?

It's almost the same like Bundesadler, the official symbol of Germany.

Bundesadler is only designed more modern, they went with time.

It looks fine. Polish Eagle looks good, too.

    Austrian Eagle looks cool.

Membership in the FDJ was nominally voluntary but those who did not join lost access to organized holidays, and found it more difficult to be admitted to universities, pursue chosen careers etc. The majority of youths who refused to join did so for religious reasons. source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freie_Deutsche_Jugend

Yes, this is what I said. People who joined FDJ had advantages, people who did not join had not. Isn't it the same thing with many organizations?

The flag of the Bundeswehr today clearly looks better.
