Agreed living in the country is far better than living in a shithole city. Do you also work in the countryside?

As previously noted, it appears non-gun owners are 25 times more likely to attempt suicide. Gun owners are 0.5-0.9% more likely to succeed in suicide than non-gun-owners for obvious reasons.

Not too long ago I read that about 20 veterans end their lives every day in the United States! It could be even higher than that....

Why suicide rate among veterans may be more than 22 a day

Even though more older veterans are committing suicide, it's difficult to predict what the toll of America's newest wars will be. A survey by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America showed that 30% of service members have considered taking their own life, and 45% said they know an Iraq or Afghanistan veteran who has attempted suicide.
"There's probably a tidal wave of suicides coming," says Brian Kinsella, an Iraq war veteran who started Stop Soldier Suicide, a nonprofit group that works to raise awareness of suicide. Between October 2006 and June 2013, the Veterans Crisis Line received more than 890,000 calls. That number does not include chats and texts.
President Barack Obama says there is a need to "end this epidemic of suicide among our veterans and troops."

I think, this is too high a price to pay for holding your position as the world's #1 Terror State.
We abolished successfully human sacrifices to some crazy god, but we now sacrifice our most precious soldiers... the ones that go and fight for our so called "freedom". Brainwashed into believing our "freedom" is in danger. Once a soldier realizes that he is just used as a tool by the elite to help them enrich themselves and enjoy the power over other countries, his spirit takes a nosedive!

Oh look, another thread where a person is talking about how stupid/evil/pathetic/whatever others are because one group doesn’t agree with another group.

Then of course, both sides cherry pick the internet for any source they can find to prove the other side is stupid/evil/pathetic/whatever.

While I personally feel really bad for Austrians that they don’t feel responsible enough to look at history without wanting to kill people, that is their country and their laws with which they live by.

Feel free to make fun of America as much as you’d like and you Americans, feel free to leave if you don’t like it.

Isn’t that the argument with websites that are cencoring ideologies they don’t like? Don’t you say about Facebook and Twitter:

“then leave or find another site!”

Well, feel free to leave or find another country, we are very independant and free here. Having people tel is what to think, do or say is not something the majority of Americans want no matter what you say.

Drugs kill FAAAAAR more people than guns, it always cracks me up how anti gun people call for prohibition on guns but not on drugs, while gun users call for prohibition on guns but not on drugs.

The hypocrisy of politics is pretty pathetic when you look at it with a neutral eye

... Germany!! How many Germans were killed and maimed during the nightly bombing raids? How many lives have the Americans destroyed with their unnecessary wars?
    Read this article:
    https://www.sott.net/article/273517...lled-20-30-million-people-since-World-War-Two

    Excerpt:
"This study reveals that U.S. military forces were directly responsible for about 10 to 15 million deaths during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and the two Iraq Wars. The Korean War also includes Chinese deaths while the Vietnam War also includes fatalities in Cambodia and Laos.

The American public probably is not aware of these numbers and knows even less about the proxy wars for which the United States is also responsible. In the latter wars there were between nine and 14 million deaths in Afghanistan, Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, East Timor, Guatemala, Indonesia, Pakistan and Sudan.

But the victims are not just from big nations or one part of the world. The remaining deaths were in smaller ones which constitute over half the total number of nations. Virtually all parts of the world have been the target of U.S. intervention.

The overall conclusion reached is that the United States most likely has been responsible since WWII for the deaths of between 20 and 30 million people in wars and conflicts scattered over the world."

Add to those numbers the dead from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, AND the 1.7 million German POWS starved on the Rhine Meadows!! I ask, WHY did they have to be killed?

No, this is not sad, it is the reaction of a normal peaceful person! I can understand that a farmer needs a gun or two to protect his livestock. Having his 8 - 10 year old son shoot animals or play with the guns in target shooting goes too far. This gun toting habit probably has to do with you Europeans conquering the Indians and living wild in the big land not too long ago... it is still in your blood. It also shows itself in the aggressive behavior towards other nations... killing people is to you like killing animals! And THAT is not very nice!!!! to say the least!

Dude either stay on topic or buzz the hell off. No one is interested in your irrational anti American conspiracy babble. There’s a whole section on this forum dedicated to keep guys like you entertained and away from the general public. Go utilize it.

We only hunt what we eat, and very rarely consume any meat we have not hunted and processed ourselves. It is not evil, and there is nothing wrong with introducing kids to hunting in a responsible fashion. It provides us with sustainable, completely organic food, and teaches our son patience, discipline, and an interest in environmental and wildlife conservation.

What would be irresponsible would be having him grow up in a household with firearms, andnot teach him safety and proper use of them.

That said, they are all locked in a safe when not being used and he will not get the combination until he is 16.

And this assertion that we all want to kill people like animals is so out of left field as to not warrant a response...

Forgive the typo. It should read disciplined. I could detail the amount of instructional time I spent with him before he ever fired a live round, but I doubt it would alter your perceptions.

Check my factual links and disagreements with the conflation of suicides vs murders in the LW anti-gun agenda.

Agreed. Anthony Bourdain also hanged himself. So, again, if the LW really wants to save lives, why are they not pushing as hard for better mental health care instead of focusing on ARs, which are almost never used in the suicides of 45,000 Americans every year?

Agreed on the country. My particular job is confined to inside airport security zones and airborne. Different cities but it's just a ride to a hotel and back to the job. Hence the allusion to my username: Road Warrior. From my job perspective, most places are like another; the biggest difference being some have better food than others.

Same reason they don't want to ban swimming pools that kill hundreds of people a year. It doesn't fit their anti gun agenda.

"The Centers for Disease Control report that here in the United States, on average, 3,536 people died from drowning annually from 2005 to 2014, which equates to 10 deaths each day. Then there are the thousands of others who suffer swimming pool-related injuries each year.

Not much money in my youth, but my dad restored a single shot bolt action .22 when I was in 2nd grade. . For my 7th grade Christmas I received a new Browning BL-22...and still have both.
