So you and a few college buddies start a company, you put all the right people in place in order to make it successful and now you want to go public, but there's a problem. Unless your company is made up of the right kind of people, people approved of by Goldman Sachs, they're going to discriminate against you if you want their help with an IPO. Let's say you and your college buddies just happen to be white men, then in order for GS to work with you, you'll need to hire a token woman or 'diverse' person who had nothing to do with your success, might not be needed and may not have experience in your field. Unless Hunter Biden comes out as a woman, he's not a potential candidate. So what you have to do now is discriminate and possibly even break the law. You now have to hire a person you don't need or want based on gender and diversity. You will need to go to head hunters and say you do not want white men applying for your opening. You will need to ask candidates questions that are illegal to ask, such as 'are you a woman or a black guy?' You will be forced to not even consider candidates based on race and gender and by doing so you will face lawsuits from the candidates you didn't hire. Isn't social justice a wonderful thing?
