Only in American politics do we criticize those who are trying to help. I don't think gays are required to get treatment there. Personal decision.

It was a government/political decision by the Romans to crucify Jesus. They just saw him as a disturbance and wanted to get rid of him. He was just a headache for them.

They have the same kind of unit in northern Italy. I wonder if they get the same complaints there.

They were here almost immediately after Katrina and people were glad for their help.

Are you saying that Graham is "antigay?"

What does this story have to do with Democrats?

His volunteer requirements are what’s illogical. I don’t have any facts or data, just a feeling. But I bet there’s a good portion of folks who could volunteer with medical experience that are atheist. Why would you not enlist their help?

Someone should tell Hoylman that he is not being forced to accept any charity he does not want and to just move on down the line.

I applaud anyone who is working to help people during the pandemic, I don't have to agree with everything they believe to do so.

If my Godless heathens you mean every single humsn who ever lived you are correct.
Jesus wasn't so much murderer as He was sacrificed, by Himself, and for a single specific reason.

I doubt there are any specifically "gay" suicide hotlines but if there were, I doubt they would (or would be allowed to) advertise for only homosexual operators. Sexual orientation in itself is irrelevant to someones ability to answer the calls appropriately. You'd need a level of understanding and compassion of course but you wouldn't need to be gay to have that (and indeed, could be gay but not have it).

Not with that messed-up kerning! Seriously, I guess that would depend on the nature of the magazine. Men can write for "women's magazines" so I doubt you'd necessarily be explicitly refused. If you proved willing and able to do the job as required, I don't see atheism being an explicitly requirement.

In that example though, the work would be directly about atheism so you'd expect atheism to be a relevant aspect of the criteria. The topic here is about healthcare. Religious identity has nothing to do with healthcare so has no place being a factor in selecting the volunteers for a healthcare role. If nothing else, they're automatically dismissing a large proportion of potential volunteers and thus risking reducing the total numbers and average capability of the ones they do accept.

That includes non-Christians, does it not?

What are the chances that bigoted anti-Christians will want to volunteer for a Christian organisation?

Yeah, this guy really sounds like he wants the group around:

"His hostility towards LGBTQ people does not comport, in my opinion, with his desire to provide assistance and relief to New Yorkers during this time of crisis,” the New York state senator Brad Hoylman said. “That said, the federal government has put us in the unfortunate position of having to accept charity from bigots like Franklin Graham and at the very least I think it’s government’s responsibility to ensure that he follows the law.”

So if they weren't under the obligation of "having to accept charity", it's clear that he would rather that the city go under resourced, risking lives.

Subconsciously? What would be the effect of that? Other than all patients would still get treated!

The problem is that Graham comes across as hateful in his messaging.

Decision? What do you mean? Gays who have coronavirus get sent to wherever it's decided that they be sent to for treatment, just like anyone. What's hilarious, is that the law of averages says that a bunch of gay people people were treated by these so called 'gay haters!' :roflol:

Can you account for the difference between Katrina and now?
