So the gun laws we have in effect now must be what the people want. Majority may rule but there should always be minority rights.
Interesting perspective on things is that most gun deaths are intentional most traffic deaths are accidental.
But where do minority rights enter into the picture? Suppose someday the (majority of) people want to outlaw Christianity or once again deny Gays to serve in the military.
Then the constitution comes into play. Any law can be challenged as unconstitutional. I always say pass the laws and let scotus decide
Interesting. I have owned guns since I was 12 and never had an accident. I have only owned a car since I was 17 and I have been in three accidents.
If we subtract suicides and gang shooting, it is likely that toaster ovens are more dangerous. I know, we could pass a law about shooting people.... Gun banners are defeated by logic. Passing more laws that criminals will ignore, does nothing but infringe on the law abiding. Gun banners are not honest enough to talk about that.
Yep. Any gun law that is ruled unconstitutional should be repealed and is. Pass the laws and let scotus decide. I will accept their decision
I started shooting many years before I started driving. I started hunting at 12 carrying a gun with me almost any time I was out of doors. I served more 30 years in the military during which time I often carried a gun and during which time I drove very little. I am retired now and drive very little but always have a gun with me; at home, out walking, and whenever I do drive. It might be very close on hours of each.
Fine. You are the one exception that proves the rule for the overwhelming majority of the rest of the population. Lol
