This is like asking... how many different kinds of shirts do you have? Tees? Long sleeve Tees? Sweaters or button ups? How about pants? Jeans, dress, canvas? How about styles? One could make the argument that all you need is one style of pants, one style of shirt, and a jacket... everything else is useless, not needed, and a waste of money. Only stupid people buy more than the basic kind of clothes..... It's the same argument, just a different take on it. However because you're not scared of clothing, it's going to be ruled invalid by you. However, I really hope how you see that it doesn't matter. Neither your stance or the one on clothing means anything, they're just irrelevant thoughts.

What does he need to "read closer" again? I just want to point out that in his attachment that he was talking about, there was absolutely no mention of 40% of anything, anywhere.... Here is the attachment:

    "FBI National Press Office:

According to the 2009 National Gang Threat Assessment released by the National Gang Intelligence Center (NGIC) and the National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC), approximately one million gang members belonging to more than 20,000 gangs were criminally active in the U.S. as of September 2008. The assessment was developed through analysis of available federal, state, and local law enforcement information; 2008 NDIC National Drug Threat Survey (NDTS) data; and verified open source information.

“Gangs have long posed a threat to public safety, but as this study shows, gang activity is no longer merely a problem for urban areas. Gang members are increasingly moving to suburban America, bringing with them the potential for increased crime and violence,” said Assistant Director Kenneth W. Kaiser, FBI Criminal Investigative Division.

Other key findings are as follows:
◾Local street gangs, or neighborhood-based street gangs, remain a significant threat because they still constitute the largest number of gangs nationwide. Most engage in violence in conjunction with a variety of crimes, including retail-level drug distribution.
◾According to NDTS data, 58 percent of state and local law enforcement agencies reported that criminal gangs were active in their jurisdictions in 2008 compared with 45 percent of state and local agencies.
◾Gang members are migrating from urban to suburban and rural areas, expanding the gangs’ influence in most regions. They are doing so for a variety of reasons, including expanding drug distribution territories, increasing illicit revenue, recruiting new members, hiding from law enforcement, and escaping from other gangs. Many suburban and rural communities are experiencing increasing gang-related crime and violence because of expanding gang influence.
◾Criminal gangs commit as much as 80 percent of the crime in many communities, according to law enforcement officials throughout the nation. Typical gang-related crimes include alien smuggling, armed robbery, assault, auto theft, drug trafficking, extortion, fraud, home invasions, identity theft, murder, and weapons trafficking.
◾Gang members are the primary retail-level distributors of most illicit drugs. They also are increasingly distributing wholesale-level quantities of marijuana and cocaine in most urban and suburban communities.
◾Some gangs are trafficking illicit drugs at the regional and national levels; several are capable of competing with U.S.-based Mexican drug trafficking organizations.
◾U.S.-based gang members illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border for the express purpose of smuggling illicit drugs and illegal aliens from Mexico into the United States.
◾Many gangs actively use the Internet to recruit new members and to communicate with members in other areas of the U.S. and in foreign countries.
◾Street gangs and outlaw motorcycle gangs pose a growing threat to law enforcement along the U.S.–Canada border. They frequently associate with Canada-based gangs and criminal organizations to facilitate various criminal activities, including drug smuggling into the United States.

The following agencies contributed to the report: the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance; Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics; Department of Justice, Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force; Drug Enforcement Administration; Federal Bureau of Investigation; Federal Bureau of Prisons; National Drug Intelligence Center; National Gang Intelligence Center; Office of National Drug Control Policy, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas; United States Army Criminal Investigations Division; United States Customs and Border Protection; United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement; United States Marshals Service; numerous sate and local law enforcement agencies; and the Canada Border Service Agency."

So... where did you pull this magical 40% number from? Did another Unicorn bring information to you? Damn Unicorns... we need to ban Unicorns.... misinformation, misinformation everywhere because of those damn things!!!

If there are no crimes, there are no murders, and guns are not a problem.

These are among the "traditionally legal purposes" for which we have a constitutionally protected right to own a gun.

Lets bring this back to the point, gun bubbas in this country with their attitude that everything goes as far as the 2nd is concerned ,is ridiculous. As long as you can buy a 37mm anti tank gun their is no threat to the second, in fact the only real threat there is, is the irrational demands of the gun bubbas, that would be you buddy.

Never seen you blue comment you listed in my life , that may be your comment but it isn't mine.---------------Heres my comment, the 40% that you say isn't there seems to be there, doesn't it? Quote "Sorry your percentage doesn't it doesn't fit " It found that among inmates who had a gun when they committed their crime (16 percent of all prisoners), about 11 percent had bought the firearm at a retail store, a pawn shop, a flea market or a gun show. Another 37 percent had gotten it from a friend or family member. About 40 percent said they got it illegally on the black market, from a drug dealer or by stealing it." "

If there is no guns, there is no one killed by guns.

Since when is advocating for constitutional rights irrational?
Seems to me the irrational one is the one that is afraid of a lawful citizen exercising his/her constitutional rights.

Unless you are a gang banger, drug dealer, or hang out in drug infested areas, you are quite safe from those that legally carry firearms.
Do a little homework on how law abiding Concealed Carry folks are.

First I would like to address the 37mm you're talking about. If you're talking about the thing usually attached under an AR15 its no where nere an anti-tank gun. If anything it's the closest to a 40mm grenade launcher. It's only porpose is to launch flares, smoke bombs, and if you're law enforcement riot ammo. Now for the rest of your statement, how are "gun bubbas" threatening the 2nd? Also you didn't answer my question. Why you have the right to tell me how many guns I own but I can't tell you how many TVs you can own?

    Isn't it? It's a non fiction story.
Nope, just keep pointing out that your arguments about an inanimate object are as dumb as others like jeans and such. This is the difference between arguing with facts and arguing with feelings. The reason why liberals won't win the gun battle is because the majority of people in the government (luckily) are rational enough to not let feelings be a decision maker when it comes to inanimate objects. You will see in my posts that I say " most liberals", and not all because believe it or not (it shocked me), there are some rational liberals out there, and they hate the ones that believe in unicorns.....

He has no idea what you're talking about -- he means, literally, a 37mm AT gun.

You can't take your argument anywhere so you make me apposed to the second. Something has to be done about the goof ball factor and guns and we have to get rid of the idea that everything goes.

Ah. An opinion with no substance behind it.
That is, you made it up.
And so you present not a lie, but a straw man.
    Thank you for the clarification.

You better do a little research, You can have any military weapon before 1986 including a 37MM anti tank gun. Good weapon throughout half the second world war.

You are correct... This is the quote you are talking about that was supposedly from that FBI article (it wasn't from there):
This quote was nowhere in the article the OP posted up with a link. The first quote was, but this one wasn't. Even so, if this quote has factual merit which I haven't seen any yet, your reply still doesn't make sense.

This however brings me to my next part... you said "read closer" when talking about the quote above:
You need to "read closer". The numbers from the quote add up to 88%. In that percentage they have the ones who bought their guns legally. That number is already in there, it's 11%. So, what you're inferring to is wrong yet again.

Its post 44 ethos said I didn't post it , here it is ------------"Sorry your percentage doesn't it doesn't fit " It found that among inmates who had a gun when they committed their crime (16 percent of all prisoners), about 11 percent had bought the firearm at a retail store, a pawn shop, a flea market or a gun show. Another 37 percent had gotten it from a friend or family member. About 40 percent said they got it illegally on the black market, from a drug dealer or by stealing it." I never said it had anything to do with the FBI, he is doing what all regressive do, twist it around enough with mirrors ,to support the fact that they just are wrong. I guess it would kill them to have people know that they are wrong.
