Of 5 translations of the Koran that I have read, the only one that contains the word "lightly" is the Ali version. This is the CAIR-approved, sanitized-for- Western-readers version, different from the Middle Eastern original one which does not contain the word "lightly".

What a classic piece of typical Muslim stupidity. Do these idiots actually think that beating someone "lightly", could somehow excuse them from a battery charge, and a jail sentence, in the USA? If so, then EARTH to MUSLIMS : In the USA, if you commit battery (beating someone - anyone), you go to jail, "lightly", strongly, or any other way.

This CAIR-approved Koran, entitled "The Meaning of the Holy Quran" translated by Abdullah Yusuf Ali, also authorizes men to have sex with their wives "in any manner, time , or place" (equivalent to rape under US laws). It compares them to a field to be plowed. > "Your wives are as a tilth unto you, so approach your tilth when or how you will". Another example of Koran criminality in US law.

Muslim brotherhood leaders have even issued fatwas authorizing wife-beating. Sheik al-Qaradawi, for instance, says its OK for men to to slap around their "disobedient" wives. Apparently, nobody took the time to inform Qaradawi that in America this is a crime, and there is no such thing as a "disobedient" wife.
