By independently corroborating the information from the dossier or by submitting the portions of the dossier while admitting that you are unable to verify the accuracy therein and convincing the judge that risk of a foreign agent acting within a Presidential campaign outweighs the potential risk that the evidence being presented is false.
Bottom line... all it takes to be granted FISA court approval to spy on US citizens is ex parte (one sided) unsubstantiated rumor... and Democrats are climbing WAY out on a limb to defend and justify this....after screaming bloody murder about the Patriot Act and warrantless wiretaps
None of which is relevant, as the issue revolves around the willful use of tainted information in obtaining a warrant.
Instead they helped by drawing attention to it. If they would have just shrugged their shoulders and then released a counter response including what ever was left out both sides would have said a few words and then it would have been forgotten. Instead since the DEM fought so hard against its release everyone will take it seriously and pay attention much longer. Also it is not the job of those dems to "protect" the investigation. It is the councils job to find out if anything is wrong and present any evidence. Let people say what they want the evidence will show us the truth if Mueller is nonpartisan and does his job as a neutral party.
Willful use of tainted information is done all the times, properly, in the application for warrants. You just have to corroborate the evidence or admit that the evidence you are using is tainted and convince the judge that the need for the warrant is worth the risk.
Ok, give us an example of a case where a warrant would be applied for without a piece of evidence that the warrant would not have been applied for without. It takes some intellectual gymnastics to make your argument.
...at which time the judge denies the warrant. "Son... you expect me to issue a warrant when you cannot verify the information here is true"? I laugh at your desperation.
Ding ding ding ding!!!! Another winner and just like that without any facts besides the altered partisan memo they have taken on the desired narrative!
Republicans released a fake memo knowing no one can counter it, as telling the true reason the FISA application was renewed would be a crime - pretty scummy of republicans to pull such a stunt - this is really the alternative facts Administration - 1984 anyone
LOL. Republicans have been apoplectic about FBI underlings "bias" in an investigation led by a Republican appointed by the donald administration. Funny how there's no concern over "bias" in this partisan Republican memo when additional information the Dems wanted to provide was suppressed. Hypocrites.
Yea I want to know as well, G5000. What was omitted? Heh, of course you don't know because unless you're a member of the HPSCI then you have no more information than the rest of us do. (and given the way you're talking you likely have less information than we do)
what else do you need. Whoever at the fbi and doj knew of this need to go to a federal pen for interfering with elections.
