How Likely is Obama to Declare Martial Law for Power Grab?

There has been talk for years that President Obama would incite violent protest from his core of radical supporters before his term ends on Jan. 20th 2017, and in the ensuing chaos, would declare Martial Law and deny Trump the presidency.

Any thoughts about this?

I was just seeing what people thought about the possibility of martial law was. You also didn't believe Trump had any chance of winning. At least I think you have a basic concept that urban Democrat strongholds demanding criminal "safe zones" are most likely to turn violent and should be avoided.

It seems to me that president Obama can't wait to get OUT of office! I get the impression he wants to enjoy the benefits of being the ex-president. He can travel and get all the fanfare while avoiding the daily stress of the job.

It is doubtful due to Obama realizing that there would be an armed uprising and with the way he has treated the military and law enforcement there would be no on defending his sorry butt.

Obama & his faithful have in the past been successful in suspending the effective rights of the 2nd Amendment in Chicago and Washington DC.

No honest citizen was allowed to buy, much less carry even a simple flintlock pistol in those cities before SC rulings. Even still there is massive infringements.

Personally, I think it is less and less likely for Obama to try and declare martial law now the end is near for him. However, wounded and cornered animals can react with violence.

I only see the martial law being declared in certain cites that may erupt into rioting and looting before Jan 20th.

 

The only reason The Obama did not place the restrictions He seeks on the right to keep and bear arms is that Congress refused to pass them, if consider them at all.

 

I dont think cities will riot to such a degree that troops would be needed. If troops were then the Governors would send in the guard. So no there is no chance of it.

 

The similarity between anti-Bush idiots & anti-Obama idiots is staggering. Both men were predicted to establish a dictatorship. In fact, both respected electoral laws & quit. Both have more respect for such laws than plenty of Clinton & Trump supporters on these forums & elsewhere.

My brother was convinced he would take the guns and bought lots of guns over the last 8 years. LOL. I tried to tell him it was just paranoid right wing delusion, but since I voted for Obama for his first term, he did not believe me. Obama fooled me with his hope and change lies. That is not a very good legacy and in calculative manner not productive in terms of unity within the US,
