How many people who are NOT citizens of the UK, think Scotland should be independent

I would love for Scotland to be independent. Unfortunately they won't vote for it.

 

Doesnt seem like Scotland can economically survive without being part of the UK, but my knowledge is quite limited.

 

I think they could definitely survive, that's not an issue,I think they would be marginally worse off because they would lose a lot of UK government jobs that are disproportionately based in Scotland but they have a financial services sector, agriculture, luxury goods manufacture and fishing.

Their major problems would firstly be currency because they would have to use Sterling, the Euro or Their own currency and each has big problems and secondly EU membership which they would have to apply for and Spain would be likely to block them.

I think in the Long term it would be good for them since they would have to change their whole political system from voting in politicians who just try and get as much money from Westminster to a system that has to maximise business interests. Scottish parties would have to become more right wing as they became self reliant.

It would aid England too.

There will be further devolution. Since independence is exteremly unlikley the next best thing is independence i everything but foreign policy, currency and defence. This solves the issue of the Pound and EU membership.

 

Make your mind up!

I think they would have a good relationships and ties with the UK ,but that does not mean the UK will be allowed to control the internal affairs like the current situation..Of course if they choose to have a monarchy ,it would be the queen of Scotland.i think it would be better not to be a part of commonwealth of have a parliament resembling Westminister.

Obviously if they were independent then the UK would not control internal affairs and Scots would no longer be able to back a Labour government in England.

The Queen is Not the head of state of most Commonwealth countries.

The SNP very much want to be part of the Commonwealth and have declared as such.

The SNP have also stated they wish to retain the Queen as the Scottish head of state.
