Nothing is preventing you from contacting your federal legislators, demanding that the constitutional laws, be changed.

Are you saying that there hasn't been any improvements to productivity to reduce labor content in an effort to reduce cost? What do you do for a living, how have you avoided any concept of modern manufacturing or agriculture?

It's important data, so there are public and private groups that study this in various ways.

It has been watched for decades.

Didn't someone ask what we would do if there were no illegals? See any poor white people wanting to escape a hellish Europe coming here?

We would develop more productive means to reduce labor costs.

Ever see a strawberry field? Sorry but machines will never replace all human labor.

So, the issue for you has nothing to do with jobs, as you see the alternatives being illegal labor or automation.

    Interesting.

But, in that case i don't see much of a reason to be upset about undocumented labor as long as they are paid a minimum wage so they can work to pay their own way.

I am concerned that we currently subsidize the reduced cost of labor through taxes. If it were up to me, I would open the boarders and gut the entitlement spending. Those that could compete would and the labor wages would no longer be deflated.

Correct. This is what I mean by 'inviting them to leave.' We have to shut off the magnet. Unfortunately, as I stated in my OP, our leaders on both sides of the aisle are too heavily invested in the illegal immigration status quo to actually do anything about it. And the value of citizenship is cheapened every day we allow this condition to persist.

Ergo, the entire point of this thread. Our corrupt leaders care nothing for the rule of law nor the wishes of their constituents. So we are stuck with this permanent underclass who are both a burden to the taxpayer and a boon to the unscrupulous entrepreneur and/or pandering politician.

Still waiting for that constitutional citation regarding compassion, by the way.

You aren't ever going to make enough money to support a family doing unskilled labor. They will eventually become tax burdens or move to other forms of employment if avilable.

Mexico need to work on Mexico so the people stop having a need to come to america.

Agreed. Best way to keep illegal immigration down is to force unskilled immigrants to compete for jobs that provide a living wage. End the subsidies and illegals job opportunities are greatly reduced.

So if they start stabbing you, shooting you, raping you or blowing you up, would you resent them more?

Not sure I understand the relevance of this question to the topic. Anyone - legal or not - is capable of that behavior.

Free market capitalism works against that idea. When a commodity (such as wage labor) is plentiful, the cost of that commodity (wages) goes down.

This is like what happens in agriculture. When farms are especially successful with soy beans, the price of soy beans goes down.

I don't know this "we" you are referring to but your problem is the way you look at the constitution. Your question is rather funny. There is a small group of Americans with absolutely no legal training who feel that if one can read the constitution, they become experts in it. One of the more humorous questions they ask in, is the "show me" question, which to me, highlights the gross misinformation these people represent. Read this and learn: Things That Are Not In the U.S. Constitution.

In Federal law, it is specifically referred to as "unlawful presence." "Illegal immigrant" is just a colloquialism". It's the latter phrase that is manufactured to get you outraged.

Apparently, the propaganda doesn't have you outraged enough.

    - - - Updated - - -

The government can't keep them out, so why should people who want to employ other people pay the price for government failure? You socialists are so in love with ineffective yet punitive state power.

The law as written doesn't make them criminals.

What would be hilarious is if the government-worshiping conservatives finally get what they want, make unlawful presence laws into criminal statutes, and then bankrupt the country with jury trials.

You were the one who claimed "compassion" is in the Constitution. You ought to come to a debate prepared to defend your assertions.

You are playing dumb. Show me where

    a) the "Air Force" (which the constitution allows) mentioned in it?

    b) How about "the right to vote"? Can you show me where the constitution says that?

    c) How about abortion, which is legal. Where does the constitution say abortion?

    d) "Separation of church and state." Surely, that phrase is mentioned, isn't it?

You don't know what you are talking about. Sorry.
