If We Let The Secessionists Go, What Would Their 'Nation' Be Like?

So how'd New York or California be if they succeeded?

 

I'm not talking about "States" seceding... I'm talking about INDIVIDUALS who happen to be secessionists. As far as States which want to go... let's start with Texas; the secessionists can move there, initially.

Authoritarianism is ALWAYS conservative in nature. That is a separate issue from economic models. In the Soviet Union the conservatives were communist while the liberals wanted capitalism. The first people the Nazis went after were the liberals. Authoritarianism REQUIRES a right wing mind set.

One thing is sure. If they had succeeded in their original secession they would have sided with Hitler against the North during WW II. And if they secede now we'll be at war with them within a decade. They would fail MISERABLY and blame us. Just as they have ALWAYS done.

I think you'd be hard to find anyone who wouldn't be a "bad guy" by today's standards if you went that far back ex. Charles Darwin was a racist by today's standards - Sir Isaac Netwon was an "ignorant" old coot who believed in young earth creationism (before the theory of evolution had even been invented) by today's standards, etc

I guess Hippocrates was a 'crazy old fool' too - he believes that cutting someone's arm open and bleeding them was a cure for common illnesses (that's what killed Washington) - (I mean sure he lived a couple 1000 years ago, but that's irrelevant - what's ignorant today is still ignorant back then, right?)

I was pointing out the irony and the response was towards my comment of secessionists being bigots. Most of the people that want to secede hold increasingly horrid values by today's AND yesterday's values.

Trying to discredit the truth by smearing other people who are highly regarded is a pretty low-balled way to do it. And it's still irony that slave owners wanted to be free no matter how much you talk about other people of history's beliefs. No matter when in time you lived, wanting be free of something done to you that you yourself do to others is by it's very definition irony.

 

Even better, give Texas back to Mexico.

 

It's pointing out your hypocrisy - Isaac Newton was a young earth creationist (more than 100 years before the theory of evolution existed), and Darwin's views would be considered racist today, Hippocrates held views which would be considered quackery today - so by your own standard, you'd have to smear them too.

Just like it's ironic that a "doctor" like Hippocrates would hold such quackish views which lead to Washington's death - yeah? What's you're point
