    Most of the citizens of those former states would become refugees seeking safety in the U.S.

    You make your own opportunities and develop your own character and culture.

    Personally, I just want the secessionists to 'go'.

    Nor the negroes, Mexicans, homosexuals, non-Christians, and the greater majority of woman who enjoy being well-educated and wanting to earn a living with a good job.

    I have 'smelled' the version of freedom many on the Right have exuded, and I'm not fairly certain it's not a 'good' thing.

    I suppose the 'Secessionist States of America' would be populated by MANY like that.

    Eh, never mind. I read the rest of the posts in this thread and it's obvious that the thread title wasn't a real question,it was just an excuse for some bigotry and a hatefest against people you despise.

    Wrong. I'm absolutely serious; I want it to go far beyond this initial brainstorming most of us have already posted.

    I've thought pretty long and hard about the effects of those sporting a secessionist (radical Right) mindset in our society... and it's not trivial thing to me, really.

    Bigotry? At people who don't want to participate in the country they're a part of because they think they're better?

    Riiiight. I'm seriously wondering how much of a bigot you have to be to outdo the standard set by the simple act of wanting to secede in the first place cause that's an awfully high bar set...
