In the meantime... in a tiny village in Gaul lol... I mean north west South Africa, a tiny village of Afrikaner people are prospering peacefully... brewing their magic potion from the Orania river and growing pecan nuts.

Why is this so hard to understand? The lands in question are lands taken from black families, farmers and business owners during the 50's, 60's and 70's and then sold to white farmers, families and business owners by the government for a pittance. Any land sold by the black farmers, families and business owners to whites is not included. ONLY LAND TAKEN FROM PREVIOUS BLACK OWNERS VIA FORCE is being returned. If your father or grandfather obtained possession of a farm or anything of value through armed robbery can you really object to it's return? Sure you'll be crushed but at least these people will receive some compensation.

That seems something that could be handled in the courts, which seems different from what the land expropriation proposals I've heard about. If land was illegally taken from owner A to give to owner B and owner B wants his land back, that seems different from land expropriation.

 

In 1970, Black workers earned R1,751 million, or 25.5% of the total wage fees in South Africa and increased to R17,238 million in 1984 (1,000% growth) and 32.3% of total wages in South Africa.

So in 1984, you white people earned something like 65% of all the wages while you only are 10% of the population. So you took almost 17 times more of the wealth based on your white skin color vs black people. No wonder that it takes an immense amount of taxes and resources to drag the black population up from the debts you white people created. You white folks should be stuck with about 6% of your wealth if you want to distribute it equally.

 

The ANC could not even maintain what the Afrikaner built.... and you want them to earn more. Your affirmative action wages is exactly why South Africa is now destroyed... people who had no clue what they were doing, fired all the whites everywhere in municipalities and government.. they also brought in hundreds of Black Empowerment laws that have crippled the country...

You should earn according to capacity and knowledge... it is now very obvious to all that these two characteristics are heavily tilted towards white South Africans...even after 25 years... a whole generation raised without Apartheid and benefiting from billions stolen and hundreds of Black Empowerment laws this is STLL the case... I make no apologies for pointing out the truth.... as I have said before, people are dying there are no more room for lies. Besides the ANC brought this on themselves.

If the ANC ran the country even half decently, we would not be having this conversation

 

Your system that white people get 17 times more than black people is sickening and it's good that it was destroyed.

Here's the crux of the story.... the whole country is dead.. the ANC killed it.... now the only thing to focus on is survival and rebuilding.

It functioned only for the white people who took 65% of the wealth while they only are 10% of the population. As I pointed out, if the wealth would be equally distributed,... you white folks would drop to 6% compared to them apartheid days. And that is what you're feeling. The country always was crap. Now, you lot are just in the same position.

 

White's who took 65% of the wealth generated over 90% of the wealth, and even today after being kicked out of government jobs... whites only 8% of the population still pay over 80% of South Africa's tax.

What you are advocating is called Affirmative action... when you get a job or pay according to your race not your productivity. It failed miserably in South Africa, along with corruption one of the biggest drivers of destruction of the country

Interesting thread. This seems like the appropriate place to drop my two cents.

From what I’ve read and from talking with South Africans everything SW has said in this thread is accurate.

Because of the complete lack of willingness to work of US citizens and the increasing lack of willingness in the under 40 year old migrant Latino populations, US agriculture is experiencing a labor crisis. This gap is now being filled in part with migrant and temporary resident South Africans. While I don’t employ anyone anymore I do hire a lot of custom forage harvesting/grinding done. I’d say at least 75% of the employees of two companies I regularly do business with are South African.

I really can’t say enough good about them as workers and as stand up people. I’m amazed at how much alike the midwestern agricultural producer and these guys are. It’s uncanny. Same work ethic, family values, environmental responsibility, generosity, positive outlook, and sense of humor. The only apparent problem is their claim they speak English. I’m kidding of course about the language.

A lot of the guys are struggling with the points brought out in this thread. They know a future at home will end in destitution or violence. Many have put off marriage and starting a family because of the uncertainty. They seem to be hoping for a turning point and a future at home that doesn’t include violence. But being away from their land is hurting their souls.

It’s hard to understand ties to land if you aren’t deriving your living from it. I don’t know how to explain it. Probably the best way is to say it becomes like a member of the family. Leaving it behind is like a death of a close family member. That’s one reason many won’t leave. I probably wouldn’t.

I hope for an unforeseen positive outcome. But hope is about all they have right now it seems. Sad.

Yes it is. In fact there have been a couple threads in the past about this.
A very small handful of blacks have become extremely rich, while the vast majority have not benefited at all, or are worse off.
Some of them got government jobs that whites had been kicked out of, but despite this, the overall rate of black unemployment in the economy is higher than it was before, crime rates have substantially risen also.

 

I hope for reform of the welfare system that removes families with able-bodied adults

Young South Africans who will be going back to South Africa must save up then join the effort to rebuild that has already begun. Empty land in the newly proposed Zuildand (in the video below) is going for R2000, which is virtually nothing, early birds will reap huge benefits as just around the corner is Paternoster and properties sell for millions of Rands.

The property of Orania the Afrikaner settlement that started in 1991 was purchased for 1.5 million Rand...they have grown and expanded according to their means and the last valuation I have on record is 500 million Rand...

South Africans who wish to stay outside the country should donate to these settlements, every donation to these settlements help them add more structures so they can bring more people in.
