And they were fighting each other constantly long before Europeans got here. The Aztecs killed hundreds of thousands of Indians via human sacrifice.

American has some strong fundamental principles that apply everywhere, regardless of religion.

We should be living up to those principles - rule of law, democracy, equality, etc.

When we fail at that, we end up with Egypt shunning American ideas because of our actions before the revolution, creating recruits for OBL/et al by backing Israel's ethnic cleansing of Palestine and showing we have no real interest in rule of law OR democracy, by conquering Iran and installing a religious extremist government that purposefully propagated a murderous civil war while moving toward Iran, by proving we won't stand by negotiated deals such as that with Iran, because we don't actually believe in the rule of law, by our actions in Afg and Libya where we had too little justification and no plan - leading to years of war, etc.

We're pretending that might makes right and that our founding principles are garbage.

Why? We KNOW that's a loser direction.

All these ancient texts (certainly including the Bible) contain gods blessing wholesale slaughter, evangelizing the world, being the only legitimate law, etc., etc.
