The resolution declares the occupation legal and establishes the formula to end it (land for peace), the formula was immediately rejected by the Arab countries.The two arab states that subsequently agreed to the 'land for peace' proposal got their land back, every square inch of it.

No. Not even trying to. But the Japanese Kamikaze strikes were an act of military necessity, after the American Air Force (chiefly) negated Japan's air power. I'm sure this was a desperate military act on the part of Japan's government.

Hamas and Hezbollah, on the other hand, have been using suicide strikes to exact a political victory (that is inextricably interwoven with it's religion).

One may say kamikaze pilots strapped themselves into flying bombs to help Japan achieve a military victory, but that is essentially different than having Muslims clerics declare and indoctrinate that strapping yourself into a dynamite laden car (for the purpose of killing enemies of Islam) is a victory, in and of itself. One is the result of a war and the other is the war itself, as promulgated by clerics.

 

The problems in Palestine have NEVER been about religion.. They are about expelling the people who have lived there for thousands of years.
