And seceding will use all them darn weapons, FINALLY. So, what they are really saying is, WE threaten to start a war with you countrymen, if you take ANY category of gun that is previously existing.

 

Here in CA a lot of people wanted to secede over Trump. Big deal.

This gun nut obsession with gun confiscation is looney tunes. They endlessly conjure up visions of heroic pitched battles with the black helicopters coming to seize their guns, women, and chickens. The only ones thinking about confiscation of guns are the citizens of the NRA. They warn the world about the "slippery slope" to an America without guns. The only place this fictitious slope has gone over five decades is to the weapons section of the local armory (gun store). It's quite a show and gun manufacturers love it. I suspect most of them make healthy contributions to the DNC. Think about it.

I would recommend that you (and other dems) start looking at history beginning with the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban. Both the House and Senate were controlled by dems before they barely passed the AWB in 1994, and then lost control of BOTH the House and Senate the same year.

For republican voters, just remind your reps and senators of what happened in 1994 with a letter, email or phone call. Just in case they've forgotten.

And add that dems are desperate to recover the power they've lost since 2010. The media manufactured "crisis" will be averted.

If the feds begin seizing firearms they will be in violation of the constitution. At which point lethal force will be necessary to protect the U.S. and its constitution. Anyone supporting this tyranny is a traitor.

Why do people think registering of guns will lead to confiscation of guns? Can someone who belives that, walk me through how that works? Do people think the govt will go door to door taking away your guns?

 

This might come as a shock to you, but the fact is that the job of legislators is not to get themselves re-elected. It's to enact legislation that is beneficial for the people. Now, I know this concept is foreign to you, because you are in a party whose only "people" are the donor class. But it is what the Constitution mandates.

Read the Constitution, Stevie. Learn what Congress is for. Educating yourself won't kill you.

If South Carolina does secede from the Union, perhaps we can build a wall around the state to keep the gun nuts out of the rest of the country. Gun nuts are a much bigger threat to the country than are agricultural and construction workers from Mexico.

The Constitution includes the Second Amendment.

Our representatives and senators get reelected when they do what the PEOPLE want them to do. If they misunderstand that concept as you have done, and do what THEY think is right, then they lose their seats of power, as I have mentioned in the post above with the 1994 AWB example. Is it difficult for you to understand that?

Dems and media are working together to BRAINWASH the people, but it only works on the democrats and liberals, as you have shown us all.

When drafting the Constitution, why do you think the Founding Fathers addressed Free Speech first, and then, with all the other possibilities, addressed the right to bear arms second?

The 2nd Amendment makes no mention of Assault weapons. Only mentions a militia.

Oh? This means we can add "naive" to your list of problems. This does not apply if what they want them to do is to get people killed. And if putting assault weapons in the hands of more people does not do that, despite reality showing that it does, then you will need much much better arguments than "Republicans took over Congress in 1994 because of the Assault Weapons ban"
