If you mean justified as in "a court said they were not guilty" then, sure. They were as innocent as OJ Simpson.

The impulse to help would be big in some people - not so much in others. But I think that jumping in would only make the situation worse. One of the great advancements in our society has been the ability for cell phones to video activity. In this case, a video documentation of the entire incident will help the victim far more than implicating yourself physically.

MOre so. And that's exactly what I mean. If you have a problem with jury trial that's just too damn bad.

I am a realist. It is your assumption that runs in the face reality.

Video only helps after the fact - after the damage has been done. If the person is injured severely, maimed, or killed, then how does that compare to the value of the video?

Think of it in these terms:
Would you trade your spouses life for a video of him being beaten and killed?
Would you accept being paralyzed from the waist down in exchange for a video which allows you to recover damages?

And video does not always work. Aiyana Jones, 7 years old, was sleeping on the sofa in her house when she was shot in the head and killed during a nighttime no-knock raid to the wrong house. At first the cops lied about it and said the girls grandmother grabbed a cops rifle and caused the rifle to discharge (can you imagine the gall of the cop to make that lie?). That lie did not last long, and it was replaced with other excuses. But the tv film crew from the show 48 Hours was there and the producer eventually revealed what really happened and provided film.

The producer was charged with evidence tampering and other minor crimes (cops dont like to be exposed). The killer cop was never convicted or punished for either lying or killing the child..

Agreed - a video won't save a life. But it would be my hope that the cops see the videoing and understand the consequences. I know that I would be screaming and yelling, but I don't think I could do a thing, physically, to help the situation.

True, but you never know. If you act, maybe others will jump in.
