Cautious of people who can stand up to him maybe. Ever since Israel's attack against Iranian bases in Lebanon, Israel's papers have been going on about Iran going to attack them back. They talk as if they are certain it is coming. That did not stop them making another attack even after they had been warned to stop by Putin. They still are expecting Iran to fire back. Though Syria is not Iran they say that if Iran fires back from there they will attack Iran. They believe they are safe till after 12th May so presumably are doing all they can till then. Yes, I had always got the impression that Israel could make mincemeat of Iran but suppose it is not so, so as I say she is trying to get the US involved. The chemical weapons do not seem to have done enough. She also has the position now that Russia has shown that it's loyalty is with Iran. More reason I guess to be trying to get the US involved. Hell she would probably prefer it if the US just did it herself. Then she could keep quiet as usual not to offend anyone.

I think Israel needs to decide what to do about the West Bank. There was reason to negotiate up to 2000, but there's less and less reason since then.

The US is already involved. It has made a commitment to provide Israel with any required weapons and it looks like it is, for Israel, going to end the Iran Nuclear deal which is likely to cause a whole range of problems.

Netanyhu is meeting Putin on Wed. It will be interesting to see how that progresses.

 

Meaning what? Iran has been using and/or supporting clients against Israel for decades. Israel has responded by attacking the clients. This has been going on for decades. There's no evidence to suggest either side is prepared to escalate the conflict.

Why do you think Israel is worried about Putin warning them? Putin's comments are consistent with having a client in Assad and showing him support. Russia might respond by giving him access to air defense systems, other military equipment, or financial assistance.

Israel isn't acting like they're concerned Russia will attack them directly.
