And with obesity and diabetes being another risk factor in the obese and diabetic America?

So when is the last time Italy saw this kill rate from the flu?

And depression and rampant alcoholism and drug use. We are not a well society.

1917? I don't know how well they made out during the flu pandemic.

Top men have advised me that like Sars, Mers and the common cold corona viruses have never had an effective vaccination. Covid19 is a corona virus too .

Actually they found those with higher body weight have a reduced probability of dying from this epidemic.

So obesity and our high rate of diabetes isnt a risk factor? I heard this week that it will turn out to be a risk factor

Having a bit of fat might be helpful.

Well the death rate depends on the number tested. ie if you test 600 people and 30 die that's 5% death rate, but if 600 is sick, 30 die and you test 300 your death rate is 10%....your death rate is only as good as your number of testing kits

    Crappy statistics.
Another global hysteria has the same problem. That hysteria is called climate change.
It kills me that so many scientists and medical professionals can’t see the giant elephant in the room.

Per the data in your source the rate of infections to deaths is 12.5%

Using another source the rate of infections to deaths is 7.2%

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/

The first source is out of date and while the second is up to date it might still not be totally reliable since that rate could come down significantly now that Italy has imposed the same kind of measures used by China to flatten the curve.

Italy, especially the northern parts have a high percentage of elderly.
Those are the ones catching it and dying. This virus is very dangerous to the elderly.
Those over 80 years of age face a mortality rate of up to 15%.
But then we do not know how many in that category had it or not. Many more may
have carried it and not showed symptoms. We just don't know.

No these rates are only as significant as the models or samples of those who tested
positive. Not all those who show slight symptoms have been tested.
Similar to how a seasonal flu may be prevalent.A person may catch the flu and get over
it without being considered a member of the flu group.
The Mortality rates for this specific virus are surely going to change as
more test positive.I am waiting to hear how Tom Hanks and wife are doing.
They've had it for nearly a week now. Some who have been interviewed aboard Cruise
ships testing positive have shown almost no symptoms and got thru it just fine.
Like what President Trump was trying to impress upon the nation a couple weeks ago.
This Virus is in no way as significant as the deadly Ebola or Aids virus.Or the Plague.
Which are true killers.Plus this Virus attacks the lungs.Which is actually very serious
on it's own.Don't expect seasonal flu symptoms like sneezes and coughs.

Covid-19 is the name of the illness. The virus itself has been named SARS CoV2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Version 2). The two strains are S & L with the L strain having the high mortality rate.

A dry cough that lasts from 1 to 3 weeks along with bringing up phlegm is prevalent in this SARS illness.

Older folk tend to have phlegm problems on their own.
No matter the amount of dairy products. It's one sign of old age.
Like old age spots and wrinkles. The way to always tell a very old
person is their eyes. The tissue around the eye lids almost always
    looks pretty droopy.Plus reddening.

for people older then 95 years old the death rate is 50% .

Vanglorious dumbjobs need their dumb LV-bags with that "Made in Italy"-label so bad that they have brought Black Death 2.0 to Europe.

    Grazie.

Spain's rates are now going up, as more there are now infected.
