Thank you, AKS, for pointing out why Trump won in 2016 and will not win in 2020.

The only question for me in 2020 is will the dems nominate a sane candidate or am I voting independent again. So far, I hate to say, it's looking like the LP.

Just how long after the Oath of office would you think Warren would commit suicide or binge drink herself to death?

The Super Delegates are still Clintonistas. Guess who Hillary supports?

I am not hoping for that and wouldn't wish her ill, but I'll bet Vice President Hillary Clinton would mourn for at least a day.

Didnt the dems do away with the super delegates after the hillary debacle? Or am I remembering that wrong?

I think the current crop of candidates is fine. I don't know enough detail on any of them to cast my vote. The policies seem unformed and unlikely to solidify for another 6-8 months. A surprise is that global warming is now a close second to health care on the list of things Americans care about most. Medicare for all seems very iffy give the lack of voter enthusiasm. Gun registration will probably stay as an issue. Candidates need to wrestle with the question of jobs and wages for all working Americans. This is finally getting some well deserved attention.

The blockbuster proposal is that $2000 a month raise for Social Security recipients. There are 64 million of us. That's a lot of votes from a group that's been completely ignored for decades. Let's see where this one goes. IMHO it could be a game changer.

that's my thinking also, a huge surprise eleventh hour nomination... warren or biden will announce chillery as vp , if they somehow win the election, just before being sworn in, 'warren or biden' will step down, leaving chilly as potus...

Nobody cares what Hillary or Bill Clinton think. She blew the last one and got beat by a crackpot. If Warren wins the nomination, she will pick whoever she wants. Maybe Booker, Buttigeig or Gabbard or someone else who won’t be 70 in 8 years. Then if she wins and has two successful terms like Clinton and Obama had, they can win and keep it going.

If that were true, Warren would not have courted her and shared the stage with Hillary Clinton.

She is adopting Bernie Sanders position, but backed Hillary. She is a fake progressive. A Corporatist statist. She is considered Hillary 2.0. Trump is certainly hoping so. But is Biden really out of this yet? His poll numbers are still double hers. Normal people are not paying attention and simply choose him as they know his name. But when you see him in that video talking about having the record player on so your kids hear words? He is very old looking and sounding. I fear he will get the nomination, either die or fail to be able to serve. Look to who his VP nominee is. I think that person gets on the ballot in his stead. Were I Joe, I'd eliminate Bernie as a threat by stating he would want Warren for a VP. Course, that may knock out Bernie, allowing his voters to shift to other progressive candidates.

Good post! Once people start dropping out, I don't see them going to Biden. The dude is senile. Let's face it, Bernie is a non-starter and Biden is senile.

I know that many AM radio and Fox News fans have been groomed to think that Hillary Clinton is an all powerful mass murdering mob boss that controls most of the “Deep State”world. In reality she is just another losing Democratic candidate like Stevenson, Humphrey, McGovern, Carter, Mondale, Gore, Dukakis and Kerry.. She might be asked to speak at the convention or not and nobody cares either way.

Your critique of Warren is, IMO, spot on. The WFP endorsement seems to have been rigged in defiance of the membership. Yet The Nation does "not care very much".

The DP is creating problems for the serious thinking Left that will take a long time to fix.

"Something further also needs to be said about the WFP endorsement. Matt Breunig raises questions about the WFP voting process. He reasons that Sanders probably won the WFP member vote. He may be right. As his own graph shows, there are a range of possible combinations of member and leader votes that could have produced the Warren result. I don’t know why the WFP hasn’t released the actual numbers on the member balloting. But I don’t care very much either."

All kidding aside, Sanders is probably the only Democrat running who might be able to bring the rust belt rebels back to the DP, and that would be a long shot.

Warren will get the gibmedats vote for sure, she promises the world with zero plan to pay for it, like the Bern does. she gets the sheeple vote but all those democrats and laborers that voted for Trump will do so a second time, as well as their friends and family that didn't the first time.

Warren would crash and burn this economy in a second and anyone with a functioning brain cell knows that. That is why she continually dodges any question of how to pay for her stupid ideas. Only democrats will allow her to go unchecked.

She will trend well in polls as democrats have learned that you dare not publicly go against your marching orders or you will be crushed, so they lie everyday to pollsters. Trump ought to just sit the whole thing out and not even show up for a debate, he can send me instead as a surrogate I will dismantle the pretend indian squaw. She speakum with forked tongue.

Sure they are. You just weren’t taught to hate the others as much. They are pre Rush and pre Fox News.

All the other DP candidates are almost universally respected honorable men.

So are the ones you hate with the exception of Warren who is not yet universally known. The only place these people are reviled is inside Rush Limbaugh and Roger Ailes’s little bubble where you and a tiny fraction of those in the universe live. I know that it seems real to guys like you because these clever propagandists have created a virtual reality for you guys. Hillary Clinton, Al Gore and John Kerry could all go to any civilized country in the world and be honored by their leaders and most of their people. They would all probably be honored with state dinners.

Nonsense, I don't hate any of them, but most Americans do not respect our now notorious crooked pols including the few that you put on a list of very respected political leaders like Stevenson, McGovern and Carter.
