Wouldn't have anything to do with homeless ******** and pissing, illegal sanctuaries coddling felons, ANTIFA rioting, other LW thugs screeching and acting out in the streets of our prior big blue-governed "tourism destinations" like NYC, LA, SF, etc., would it? Nah, of course not. Doesn't fit the Orangemanbad narrative.

It might if they were mostly coming in via grants in aid and increasing competition for a limited
You know what an H1b is. In practice it has become big tech replacing American workers with foreign workers most from India and then dumping and bringing in more when they become qualified for citizen ship and higher wages. Disney by the way leads the way.

Whenever I have crossed US borders or gone thru customs and immigration they didn't seem leaky to me.

What is your objection to work visas?

When she said "migrants" she made no mention of H1b visas.

That's a pretty broad assumption. Based on what? From my perspective, parents living in a threatening environment who want to protect their children & decide to relocate to the U.S., because it has a reputation for welcoming the downtrodden, but who find themselves blocked at the border, still help their children to cross that border without them, because they want to know they will be safe, are NOT criminals. From my perspective, they are caring & loving parents caught in a nightmare. Democrats want to help the kids, & the parents as well, when possible. Republicans want to throw the law in their faces & lock them up or toss them out. This issue makes me proud to be a Democrat.

Along those lines. Sen Rick Scott introduced Senate legislation (S.2320) which would take away Peace Corps autonomy and put it under the control of the State Dept. Peace Corps is proud of it's non-political stance and it is that which allows volunteers to operate safely and it only goes where it is invited. Despite their vulnerability they have not been targeted by terrorists. All it will take is one political action by the State Dept to end that security and effectively kill the Peace Corps, this is why it was set up that way. When you consider the hundreds of thousands of volunteers and the usually positive impact they've had on tens of millions of people if clearly would not help attempts to show the world the positives of the US.

Anyone that thinks the US doesn't need the world isn't paying attention and it's best to show our good sides like Universities and the Peace Corps as much as possible.

Anyone can have an opinion - but - is it informed ?

GDP was at less than 1.9% - not exactly "humming" - and this was "better than expected".

MANUFACTURING INDEX CONTRACTS FOR FOURTH MONTH IN A ROW

    Manufacturing is not humming either.

They don't want to look at Obama's last two, three years compared to Trump's first two three years. The best we can say is Trumped hasn't totally ****ed it up.

This is why the US needs to keep focusing on education. The US has always stayed ahead of the game in that respect and it pays off. Our universities need to always lead. More education and more accessibility is key.
There has always been improvements in technology that have eliminate jobs. Take the village blacksmith. Once the key to the health of any community his production got replaced by cheaper mass produced goods. It spelled the doom for blacksmithing but not for blacksmiths, they became the engineers that designed the mass produced goods. We need to recognize that many jobs are being lost to technology and foreign labor and we need to be supple enough to create the next generation of jobs and that requires a good educational base and continued education. All universities should get their students used to at least some e-learning for example so that continued education does not necessarily mean a relocation.
I am very much against the idea of we need to lower our expectations to compete. I believe we need to always be the innovator that others wish to emulate.
