We need a constitutional amendment clarifying the role of the VP in 12A, because the current language supports both Trump's and Pence's view.

As a practical matter the clarifying language needs to track Pence's view, not Trump's.

Pence was right where he needed to be on J6 and he served his beloved nation well. And he was there because Trump made an excellent choice in a VP, unlike Biden whose choice was yet another unmitigated disaster, possible even worse than Obama's.

No, it doesn't. The Constitution supports Pence's "view" and his alone. His job is was to open the ballots so that Congress could count them. That's IT. He had no authority to do what Trump demanded.
