The Mueller investigation was funded by taxpayer dollars. I did not consent to have my hard-earned taxpayer dollars be wasted the political witch hunt of the Mueller investigation. Say what you want about the money that Trump raised, but, at the end of the day, the people who donated to Trump did so on their own volition; unlike the Mueller investigation, the American people were not forced to give Trump their money. That's the difference, when all is said and done.

What was your opinion when Senator Tom Cotton was asking that the military be brought in to suppress the BLM riots that cost about $2 billion in damages, went on for months, ended with over two dozen people dead, and over 2,000 police officers injured? I remember a lot of people on your side did not like that idea very much.

This was the "mostly peaceful protest" of a BLM riot in DC.

BLM are controlled or manipulated by a criminal element in some large cities, but are mostly peaceful. Their loose structure means there is no control over the criminals who take over local BLM organizations.

The people in cities like Seattle, Portland, Chicago and NYC have to take corrective political action. It looks like they have in NYC. The states of Washington, Oregon and Illinois are in control of their municipal governments.

Using the military is not something we should do unless absolutely necessary. Better to first take over the state national guard.

The best thing to do is outline what would be considered in terms of taking over a state's national guard. Overwhelmed police forces unable to maintain civil order would be a factor.

I indicated what the Trump should have done on Jan6. He is ultimately responsible for DC and should make sure there is law and order.

They had egg on their face when they didn't focus on issues Trump ignored. Trump lost the House in 2018 because he didn't fix healthcare. Holding House hearings on Trump's alleged Russia involvement was absurd. They should have held hearings on healthcare, education costs, lagging middle class incomes, the environment—stuff people care about.

Even the impeachment (a bad idea) should have been about obstruction.

Polls show Trump would likely lose to Biden in 2024 and lose badly to a younger centrist Democrat. OTOH, Republicans would probably win against any Democrat if they ran someone other than Trump or his ilk.

 

A comment is not the same as doing something. Trump could have called on the DC Metro police through the mayor who by law can't refuse his request, the DC National Guard which he controlled, or requested police from Maryland and Virginia.
