He’s about to leave the governing seat of Ohio as well.

We Ohioans have grown tired of him turning the southern half of the state into a giant pill mill where he can send the junkies from the rest of the state.

Another rino on the run. All he does is say he's a Republican like McLame does to fool old people.

Trump's approval rating has been hovering around 40% give or take a point or two since his inauguration. You can see the graph below the polling data on RCP's approval averages.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_trump_job_approval-6179.html

Kasich is term limited in his governorship which ends at the end of the year. As for him leaving the Republican Party, I really don't care as I have very little use for political parties. Especially when both major parties put the good of their party over the good of the country.

I also don't look at the eight time party switcher, Trump as a Republican. I look at him as an opportunist who took advantage of a huge Republican field during the primaries. Who is the more loyal Republican? One who has been a Republican for six years, been a Democrat most of his life and has shown no loyalty to any political party switching as I stated 8 times or someone who has been a Republican his entire life?

The Republican Party under Trump is headed for a meltdown this midterm due to independents deserting Trump and it seems will be voting for Democratic candidates for congress. Independents view of Trump has dropped from 44% favorable/24% unfavorable on inauguration day to 34% favorable/54% unfavorable today. Question 69A.

I also view Trump as the RINO within the Republican Party. A nationalist, yes, perhaps a populist and a nativist, but not a conservative. Not in the traditional sense. I've found most Trumpers support the man, but not the Republican Party and have called for many Republicans in congress to lose. Be careful what you wish for, chances are after November the House will be under democratic control and perhaps even the senate.

Where will this leave Trump? Perhaps reverting back to his long held liberal political views working hand and glove with Schumer and Pelosi. Maybe that is want he wants? To be able to discard the facade of conservatism he had to don to run as a Republican and just be himself, unfettered.

People don't care what Trump is so long as he continues policies that are good for the country.

This is why a "standard issue" (as in an olive drab GI duffel bag is standard issue) republican could not even come close to getting the nomination -- nobody from inside the beltway does what is good for the country.

Poor Kasich.... In trying to be a political "jack-of-all-trades", he only accomplishes being a "jackass-of-all-trades", he ends up pleasing no one. RINO's are despised by true Conservatives. Rabid Democrats just laugh at them and use them as political 'toilet-paper'.... Looks like "Little Boy Lost" is a man-without-a-party....

What these fine fellows are admitting is, there is no fixing the Republican party. It will dwindle away, till there is one true Republican, and all the others are destroyed.

Donald Trump is the only real Republican in the whooooooooooole world!

Kasich actually balanced the federal budget, and gave Ohio a surplus. And he's never cheated on his wife with a porn star.

Of course today's pseudocons want nothing to do with a guy like that!

Tax cuts, spending helping push national debt to historic high, new report says

Pseudocons are so far off the conservative reservation, they chose a pro-choice, sleazebag adulterer New York Democratic liberal HUCKSTER over an actual pro-life, budget hawk conservative.

Kasich won only one primary election, his home state of Ohio. This ain't no comeback kid. Then he called for an open convention, a case where the results of the primary elections and the peoples' votes could possibly be negated. This ain't no comeback kid. In the end he didn't even attend the 2016 convention. This ain't no comeback kid.

As I said, the pseudocons are so far off the reservation, they don't even recognize an actual conservative. They worship a New York Democratic limousine liberal huckster instead.

The huckster has you all admiring his adultery.

He has you celebrating his acceleration of deficits, and has converted you into Keynesians.

He has you sounding exactly like hippies in your attacks on law enforcement and "The Establishment".

He has you parroting blatant lies without engaging a single brain cell in critical thinking.

So of course you hate a guy like Kasich and all the other actual conservatives who ran in the primaries.

No wonder they didn't stand a chance in the face of collective mass stupidity and willful blindness.

Tax cuts without spending cuts never works out. Not personally. Not for governments.

The voters wanted a nationalist much more than they wanted a conservative. The voters have been disappointed by conservative presidents for decades and decades.

The voters are still being sorely disappointed by the conservatives in the congoress.

Republicans have the three branches and can't get squat done -- and much of that due to going against the Trump voters.

That shows the establishment influence on immigration. The only person in Trump's orbit to tell him differently on immigration is Stephen Miller.

The Republicans may well have to split eventually, given the clear divisions we see today. Trump speaks to a part of conservatives, not all.

It's only the weakness this would create for them in our two-party system that could prevent that, but as ever, it would be unhealthy. We need more than two party choices. We desperately do. Our system is broken as long as we only have two "viable" political parties.
