I thought it might be a nod to farmers, since the tariffs are going to hurt them.

He started funding “recovery councils” which hand junkies 90 Suboxone pills a month (no drug test to ensure they are taken) which they usually walk right outside and sell. The people operating these recovery councils make between 900-1200 per person they give the Suboxone, a bag of chips, and a bottle of pop too.

We have 115 of them in a city of 4400 people.

    They wanted a nationalist bigot.

For the pseudocons, this election was about Mexicans and Muslims. It sure as hell wasn't about conservatism.

His policies on trade and deficits as an example are not a Republican.
There may be some Democrats and Tepublicans who like illegal alien workers. Trump's policy on immigration does not Republican make of him.

I kind of liked Kasich in the primaries, but if he really feels the Republican party needs to be "fixed" he'd do better to work with them from the inside, not running to CNN of all places to publicly grandstand and b*tch about the Republicans. Something smells fishy....

We will not not see an independent candidate take the WH in the next 200 years.

    Oh...so you're the one. ;)

    I agree, hence the thread.
I wonder what exactly it is that Kasich doesn't like about being a republican? I'd be willing to bet it rhymes with Frump.

Failure? Really? Every President since 1953 has been trying to get North Korea and South Korea to make peace with each other............

Obama got a Nobel Peace Prize for simply breathing, Trump should get 100 for this.

My attempt at a little joke failed. I feel so sad.
(It has to do with Kasich's really poor showing in the primaries)

You're a mind reader now? Kasich's actions bear out what I said.

    To quote a famous President..............

"Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so." - Ronald Reagan, Rendezvous with Destiny, October 27, 1964

That's the smell of butthurt, not seafood, Libby.

I've been really disappointed with Kasich since the election. He could learn a lot from Rand Paul, who continues to work within the party to make it more libertarian (or conservatarian). You don't see him threatening to pick up his marbles and run home to mommy when things don't work out his way.

Fact is that a minority of Americans like Trump. He has his base, which is basically the same amount of people from the beginning until today. He has failed to add to it. You'll see this going forward. Trump basically keeps 35-40% of America happy and tells the rest to stick it where the sun don't shine. He plays to his base and only his base.

What you have going on in the Republican Party is that it has been taken over by Trumpers with little to no loyalty to the Republican Party. They love the man, the party means little to nothing them. Why should it? The Republican Party doesn't mean anything to Trump either outside it was used by him as a means to the end he wanted. Now he and the Trumpers can discard it.

In fact, there are many Trumpers working to defeat sitting congressmen and senators. If you don't back Trump 100%, better they be replaced by a Democrat than remain in congress. They will probably get their wish this November in a Democratic tidal wave.

well november is still 5 months plus a week away, and things can change. this drastic shift started with the tea party, imho, and some remnamts from gingrich.

that said, i agree 100% trump supporters dont care about the party, only trump. their effect will be determined this november.
