just another sat night full of violence

For what its worth...I grew up in Calgary Alberta. My whole family is from Southern Alberta, thus I have quite a bit of experience with what efjay calls "ABOs". I happen to have another endearing term for them...but I'll spare you fine folk who are sensitive to such language...and probably have ZERO experience with them...and simply call the Canuck version "Natives".

Once a month in Alberta, the "Natives" get their "Treaty Cheques". For the next several days, one can enjoy the sheer pleasure of "hop-scotching" down the sidewalk in certain parts of Calgary, in an effort to not step on one of our fine slumbering "Natives".

If one is to go just outside Calgary, one can take a nice drive into a "Native" reserve in order to shop at the "Natives'" craft shop. Very nice stuff there; head dresses, stone carvings, stuffed animals, all sorts of "Native-style-goodies". It is quite interesting.

If one ventures deeper into the reserve, one can also view the splendor and magnificence of the open and untamed wilderness. A vision of true beauty that serves as a backdrop for the odd burnt down home, and/or blown-up pick-up truck. Really something every white-assed, PC-lovin' person should experience.

BUT...there is another seedy side to this. See...on the "Treaty-Days" I mentioned before..."Natives" tend to come into town, spend money like its water (often replacing pick-ups that mysteriously burnt up) and what-nots...all for cash. In the evenings these "Natives" can be found in the taverns of some of Calgary's more "cost-effective" areas. If one observes the goings-on in one of these fine establishments for a few hours, what transpires is a group of "Natives" will find a secluded area and sit together...and quietly get PIE-EYED. Eventually one of them will head for the bathroom. One will generally then see 2 or 3 white men, decked out in their finest attire, follow the "Native" into the bathroom...and kick the (*)(*)(*)(*) outta him. This often causes a bar-brawl. A cultural ritual that, I assure you, one would not want to miss out on. There is nothing quite as satisfying as having your nose broken by an errant punch of some ignorant red-neck mother-frigger.

My point is this: Ignorance and stupidity are both colour-blind, as neither dicriminate. They are "equal-opportunity" inflictions.

Just ask Sarah Palin...LOL...sorry...couldn't resist...

 

Dont know. Havent got many details. But yeah when i first saw it i laughed. Like wow they made a mess of that ! What i heard was it was one male one female. The guy has some kind of spinal injury, dont know if serious. The chick isnt too badly hurt. Tho they sent them straight to canberra hospital, which is 2 1/2 hours drive away.

 

The Intervention was a great idea, but those who profit from the binge drinking, and the academic dogooders who want our Indigenous brothers to continue to depend on it, want it destroyed. Because there are so many sticky fingers in the large Indigenous hand out pie, it was never going to be easy to implement this well overdue policy.

For the welfare of our Indigenous brothers, this policy of strict alcohol control must continue.

 

OH...there is another point about this topic I thought worth mentioning...

Many many years ago, white people came to our continents with superior fire power and a desire to colonize the new lands. In the States they simply killed anything in their way. In Canada and Ausieland, we got the ones in our way drunk as skunks, and then convinced them to live on "Reserves" so we could gleep everything else. But our arrogance would not allow us to envision the "Natives'" ever wanting to continue living like..."Natives". On the contrary...whit people obviously thought that "Natives" would assimilate into our culture...since it was so very superior. Quite absurd really...when you think about it...

And while you ponder this...take a moment and ask yourself..."What are we doing in Iraq and Afghanistan?"

 

What town do you live in? How convenient to spout this racist stuff without linking to anything. So we're to take your racist word for it? No links? Just your word?

Link the figures and stats for drinking and violence of Indigenous and non-Indigenous in your town.

The Intervention was a racist idea. A great idea to you? To someone that will never have to live under an intervention.

God knows that some non-Indigenous people get drunk and are violent and the rest... we should slap an intervention on the ENTIRE country... that would be fair. That way all of us would suffer (an intervention) because of those few or many non-indigenous that get drunk and violent.

Yes, non-indigenous should CONTROL the indigenous... bit like the dark old past. Stealing their children. Killing them off. The NT Intervention is racist, is wrong. Created plenty of jobs for non-indigenous, though. All the houses that were to be built. Where are they? It is not working. It is not working. Why? Because it is racist and controlling.

If your neighbour is non-indigenous drunk and violent... should you be slapped with an intervention because your neigbour (not you!) is drunk and violent?

Entire communities should not be slapped with Intervention. It is unfair, it is racist.

Now there has been links posted of some of the stuff but as yet no one has dealt with them...you are more intent on dealing with my so called racism.
Now as i have stated before.. The abos that live IN TOWN i have a good relationship with. The ones that live just out of town in their "community" are the ones we have a problem with. But city living p/c ***** wouldnt know anything about the troubles small towns have with abo violence ect cos you are too busy living in your dreamstates...
