The explanation from the Saudi government as to what happened to Khashoggi is getting more bizarre by the day. Saudi Arabia's foreign minister said Sunday that a "tremendous mistake" was made when Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi was killed at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul and pushed back against the idea that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was linked to the journalist's death. "There obviously was a tremendous mistake made and what compounded the mistake was the attempt to try to cover up. That is unacceptable in any government," he said. He characterized the killing as an "aberration" that did not fit with the behavior of the Saudi regime. Then there is the body. The foreign minister offered this incredulous explanation. To cover up their misdeed, the team rolled up Khashoggi’s body in a rug, took it out in a consular vehicle and handed it over to a “local cooperator” for disposal, the official said. This is surreal. If this is the best the Saudis have to offer, they are not too bright. So, where is the body? It did not evaporate. Surely the "local cooperator" knows where he put the body. Or, the Saudis do not want the world to know the condition of that body. Going back to what was said earlier, the foreign minister pushed back against the idea that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was linked to the journalist's death. That, too, is an incredulous statement to make. MBS did not like the Post reporter because he was questioning the crown prince's authority. Since the operation was conducted by people close to MBS, it is rather obvious MBS ordered the seizure and interrogation of Khashoggi. It certainly follows that MBS is responsible for what happened as a consequence of the seizure he ordered. The Saudis are ignoring that simple fact. Adel al-Jubeir told Fox News host Brett Baier that Khashoggi was killed in a "criminal" act committed by individuals operating "outside the scope of their authority." It is fitting that the Saudi minister appeared on Fox, euphemistically called the Trump Network. It is an extremely friendly network for anything involving Trump. This issue definitely involves Trump because of his copious financial ties to the Saudi royal family. SA can stop the bleeding now by admitting the obvious, and a part of the obvious is, MBS overstepped his authority. MBS cannot nab legal American residents and reporters because he does not like what they write. King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud must remove MBS from power and Trump has to eat his words. A smart President would never have said them in the first place. Al-Jubeir's defense on Fox aired the day after Trump accused the Saudi government of lying about Khashoggi's death, even as he continued to defend the leadership of the crown prince. See, now that simply makes no sense. The crown prince is the Saudi government.
"I am not satisfied with what I’ve heard," Trump said today. "We're going to get to the bottom of it." He made no mention of the crown prince. Trump is learning. Good thing. It is pretty clear now that Khashoggi's murder was premeditated. A member of the 15-man team suspected in the death of Jamal Khashoggi dressed up in his clothes and was captured on surveillance cameras around Istanbul on the day the journalist was killed. CNN reports that a member of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's entourage made four calls to the royal's office from the consulate around the same time as Khashoggi's murder. The net is closing in on the crown prince.
I'm still trying to figure out why this murder of a Saudi citizen by other Saudi citizens, in a Saudi Consulate, in Turkey, is a matter of such earth-shattering, bug-eyed focus for the Government of the United States, its president, and its Secretary of State. Realistically, it is very likely that nearly every country in the world has some of its own citizens killed for one reason or another, from time to time. They may conduct these assassinations for 'understandable' reasons, or even for purely evil ones. Who knows? But, again, I fail to see how this particular murder should cause everybody in the Government of the United States to be running around in circles with their hair on fire! . "Obviously, the Americans feel they need a new obsession to add to their other miseries...."
Gonna be kinda hard to claim there was no kill team and bone saw pieces of the guy start showing up And when we stand by and let OUR reporters (and yes he worked for an American newspaper) be butchered like this...democracy around the world is in peril. It's bad enough that no one flinches when Putin kills reporters and even worse when Trump CELEBRATES American lawmakers physically attacking reporters
Hello? Is anybody out there? How does a murder (although regrettable) of a Saudi citizen by other Saudi citizens, in a Saudi Consulate, in the nation of Turkey, involve the United States of America at the level of the President of the United States and the Secretary of State? Would somebody please tell the rest of us how this tragic event (although regrettable) is of SUCH COMMANDING IMPORTANCE...?! Reality? Saudi citizens have been getting dismembered and beheaded every week in public squares in Saudi Arabia for 'crimes' as determined at the whim of Saudi princes for HUNDREDS OF YEARS.
As regrettable as those incidences were (wonderful ally Trump has there) THIS was an American resident and a member of OUR media When the media becomes a target of despots ...democracy around the world is threatened
I'm certain Trump would have liked a little heads up on this latest admission...he's having a hard time keeping his lines straight...
OK, I've got it now. The Saudis can lop off other Saudi citizen's hands, heads, or whatever else one of their princes or imams wants done to them, UNLESS it's some member of the almighty-god MEDIA! The MEDIA are off-limits... right? . "Go ahead... this one has no 'press credentials'...."
I don't know what a "whataboutism" is supposed to be, but it's pretty easy to tell we're being lead around with a ring in the end of our noses when we get THIS spun-up about one foreigner getting murdered by other foreigners, and in a foreign country. I wish I had a ten-dollar bill for every time some foreigner got killed by other foreigners in a foreign country, in just one day! Hint: somebody is playing us....
Yeah, the drone would have had plausible deniability. Ya see, that is the mortal sin identified by Trump in all this. It was the worst coverup in the history of coverups. And.......umm..........What would Donald know about coverups, eh? Anyone?
He was an american perm resident we gave asylum to..... who then left the us and went to the Saudi consulate in Turkey.... the Saudis who hed needed asylum from....
It is amazing what some people are willing to lie about just to create a sensational list. Not you, you didn't create the list. I'm talking about the liars you got the list from.
I don't think so. From what I have heard he's just a registered alien living in America. Only legal immigrants are issued permanent residence cards (green card). Refuges are not issued permanent residence cards.
Are these people dead ? All of the people listed on the list had connections to crooked Hillary. How many people who had connections to you have mysteriously been found dead ? Probably explains the small turnout at Hillary rallies.
Either way, he's on record as having fled as persona non grata, a regime that regularly and in documented fashion has taken dissidents while abroad when they pop in to the consulate. IIRC khashoggi himself had reported on such things. And the dumbfuck went to the consulate IN TURKEY. Do you think they would've tried this **** in the US? No. I just find myself unmoved that this terrorist sympathizer who wants sharia law worldwide was axed by a tyrannical secular government who he willingly put himself back in the arms of.
Can a monarchy be called a "regime" ? I suppose so if an "absolute monarchy" means that the monarch (king) has supreme authority over all of his subjects. What's really cool about being an American citizen, you never have to kneel or bow to a monarch or even the POTUS. Unless you're not an American nationalist. President Obama bowed to ever monarch he was introduced too but then again, Obama isn't a nationalist. Leftist regimes are the worse, North Korea, Cuba, the former Soviet Union and Nationalist Socialist Germany.
Do you have any idea what the word REGIME means? Think REIGN or REGICIDE. Words.. They have meanings. A monarchy would be the original conception of a regime ffs.
