None of us want forever but the way this was done without apparently any tactical or strategic thinking or planning on the part of this POTUS" has caused a situation where not only have wife's, widows, and children of ISIS terrorists escaped detention camps but also ISIS terrorists are reported to have escaped. This is a blunder of epic proportions. A Saigon tragedy or actually worse in the long term of our relationships with current and potential future allies throughout the world.

This is not the way to make America great!

That is exactly what we have been doing without help from our NATO allies. Babysitting. It is funny that now the lefties want us to be the world police.

I agree, we should get our troops out and probably should have never been there. Helping the Kurds to negotiate a deal with the Syrian government before a pull out would have better than just leaving them after convincing them to remove defenses and such.

It would take a lot of American blood for a redo to establish Obama's redline and become dominant in Syria.

    It's not worth it.

Hmmm. I wonder what Republicans would think of an Obama policy that resulted in hundreds of ISIS prisoners escaping. I think they would be cool with it.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdistan_Workers'_Party

The Kurdistan Workers' Party or PKK (Kurdish: Partiya Karkerên Kurdistanê‎[a]) is a Kurdish far-left militant and political organization based in Turkey and Iraq. Since 1984 the PKK has been involved in an armed conflict with the Turkish state (with a two-year cease-fire during 2013–2015), with the initial aim of achieving an independent Kurdish state, later changing it to a demand for equal rights and Kurdish autonomy in Turkey.[16][17][18][19]

They were based on Marxist-Leninist ideals.

    LOL

First off, the PKK renounced their socialist (different from communist) ways awhile back

Since PKK leader Öcalan's capture and imprisonment in 1999, he has moved on from Marxism–Leninism,[30] leading the party to adopt his new political platform of democratic confederalism while ceasing its official calls for the establishment of a fully independent country.

And secondly, they arent the Kurds gov't

Be like calling the USA the taliban because we have the pro-life terrorists

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (Kurdish: پارتی دیموکراتی کوردستان‎, Partiya Demokrat a KurdistanêDemocratic Party of Kurdistan), usually abbreviated as KDP or PDK, is one of the main Kurdish parties in Iraqi Kurdistan and Kurdistan Region. It was founded in 1946 in Mahabad in Iranian Kurdistan. The party claims it exists to combine "democratic values and social justice to form a system whereby everyone in Kurdistan can live on an equal basis with great emphasis given to rights of individuals and freedom of expression."

    Good Kurds = Iraqi Kurds

    Bad Kurds = Syrian Kurds

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Until my enemy is defeated by my former enemy.

Trump ran on a platform of no more stupid wars and getting Americans troops out of the Middle East and Afghanistan.

It's kind of like tariffs. There is a right way and a wrong way to do it.
This is the wrong way. :(

Seriously? Babysitting forever? Trump is going to sanction Turkey and since our Allies will do nothing, that will be the best route. Turkey is not a problem for the US but is a problem for Europe. Time for them to step up to the plate.

Glad to see they have been able to work out an alliance. I wish NATO would step up and address Turkey's behavior...where are our European "friends" in all of this?

Let"s point a finger at the real cause of all troubles in that part of the world. Incompetent Obama's administration.

Mattis: Let me tell you about how badly Obama screwed up the ISIS situation

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...obama-screwed-up-the-isis-situation?_amp=true

"Then there is the former Secretary of Defense’s recollection of working with Obama himself. Unlike Mattis’ generally friendly assessment of Biden, the memoir has no similarly kind words for the former president. The way Mattis tells it, Obama is personally responsible for the violence, chaos, destruction, raping, and pillaging that occurred in Iraq after the U.S.’ abrupt withdrawal. The way Mattis tells it, the former president is a man consumed entirely by arrogance and pride, whose stubborn refusal to listen to those who understood the situation on the ground in Iraq doomed thousands of civilians to die..."

You need to go back a little further than that to Bush's search for weapons of mass destruction.

Nah...It appears that the former narcisist in charge Obama was and still is directly responsible for the rise of ISIS.

    Read Matis's quote again.

Obama is personally responsible for the violence, chaos, destruction, raping, and pillaging that occurred in Iraq after the U.S.’ abrupt withdrawal. The way Mattis tells it, the former president is a man consumed entirely by arrogance and pride, whose stubborn refusal to listen to those who understood the situation on the ground in Iraq doomed thousands of civilians to die...

Have you noticed how the liberal economist point to America's tariffs during the 1930's when tariffs were put on all imports from every country in the world while ignoring that President Trump is only waging one trade war with tariffs on only one countries imports, China.

The left never mentions that do they ?

Turkish genocide??? Where is the genocide? What a huge slander! @PARTIZAN1 are you enemy of Turkish people? Do you hate the Turks? I think you support PKK? PKK which officially a terrorist group such as ISIS and Talliban.
