I just saw a video on RT showing witches being burned in Salem Village Massecusettes. I didn't know Sony was selling cam camcorders in 1692. Good to know RT is right on top of all of these burnings.

 

Show me. And make sure those crimes have a political agenda behind them, not someone killing a guy because he smacked his girlfriend.

 

Can’t help but notice how the left criticized the source when they can easily verify this for themselves. Others said it was ok because a similar event took place 200 years ago.

Wait hold on. In 2009 the Amazing Baptist Church of Canton NC burned Non King James Version of the Bible .. Now that is no called "christians" burning Christian Bibles. Since someone said Leftists burn Bibles Baptists must be Leftists? Who knew!

 

I didn't say it was left or right, just anti christian. I'm pretty sure the left has christians too. Whoever the baptists were, they were ignorant as hell too. Personally, I think every modern bible is flawed since a roman emperor got to decide what did and what did not go into it. But I'm not christian, so I'm not too worried about it, except that all book burning is ignorant, unless you are freezing to death and that is all you have to start a fire with, lol.

I concede. I was sure to find a looted bookstore from the riots this past few weeks. But, nope, not in Portland. In Chicago a Catholic Church bookstore was looted, according to Sister Dugas, she's not sure what, if any, books were taken.


Hahahahahahahaha hahahah No ****, what was I thinking.

Undaunted, I continued to search for looted bookstores. The article from The Economist in 2011 suggested I was waisting my time. Except for a Gay and Lesbian bookstore, no others have had books looted.

The early rioting reports were encouraging. Maybe even a cause for civic pride. Yes, the barbarians were at it again, smashing, looting, burning. But it appeared that Chicago had a higher class of barbarian than other cities.

They had hit a bookstore. And not just any bookstore. Not some mass purveyor of lurid best sellers or self-help glop.

No, it was the venerable Stuart Brent Books, on glittering Michigan Avenue, where for years true book-lovers have sought the thoughtful, the rare, the profound. As bookstores go, it is a classy joint.

And that could be something Chicago could lord over Los Angeles, where the looters I saw on TV seemed to be obsessed with car batteries and other mundane auto parts.

So I asked Brent, an old friend, what literary gems the bookworm looters had selected after they caved in his window.

I like your naivety.
I don't care why they left. I was all in favor of letting the entire city handle it by themselves. I do know the rioters were not so peaceful the fifty days before the Federal Marshals that have been protecting the Federal courthouse since it was built in the 1990's were reinforced to prevent it from being burned to the ground. As for the city itself? It is only a matter of time before mother nature rids herself of this wart on her face.

 

You're one of those guys who doesn't have an opinion until you see who the players are. If this thread merely said "Religious books and flags burned" you wouldn't know which way to go until you saw what was burned and who did it. If a quran or gay pride or blm flag was burned you'd be outraged, you'd be crying about white supremacists, and you'd be saying Trump is going to lose in a landslide.

But hey, at least you're no longer questioning the source now that I posted numerous links to the story.

Fiction Bookstore and Uncle Edgar’s Mystery Bookstore were completely destroyed on Friday night, when the building housing both was set on fire and burned down. Uncle Hugo's was the oldest independent science fiction indie bookstore in the country.

On Saturday, owner Don Blyly posted on the store’s website under the headline, “Uncle Hugo’s and Uncle Edgar’s Foully Slain,” the same statement he sent employees and posted on Facebook earlier that day: vandals had broken all the windows in the two stores and then squirted accelerant through them. By the time he arrived on the scene in the wee hours of Saturday morning, both stores were too full of smoke for him to save anything. Buildings on both sides of the street were burning as “dozens of people were dancing around.”
