Its really easy getting liberals to think everything is racist, even grammar, math and milk.

Agreed. The Antifa rioters do sound like a bunch of middle-school idiots, who are unfortunately mostly in their 20's. They made it too easy for Babylon Bee to parody them with satire. lol

Antifa makes for some fine cartoon fodder as well.

    Nah.

    You got me all wrong.

As far as how I would feel if those other things (that you mentioned) were being burned?

    Who knows?

When that actually happens, post a story (and I will let you know).

Ascribing predetermined "opinions" (as to how a fellow PF Member may react) isn't a good look.

If anything is being burned, I would consider the source (as well as the implications) before forming an opinion.

Anyway, I still fail to see the relevance of what is happening in Portland (beyond a LOCAL Issue).

I am not buying into the RW "Portland Dems Bad" narrative that appears to suggest that a small fire on one street in Portland means that tomorrow White House with be in Flames.

PS--Now that you mention it, Trump WILL LOSE.:flagus:

    I’m an atheist.
Burning anything just divides the society. People need to stop believing willingly and on their own.

This has nothing to do with the OP, feel free to start a new thread or derail this one.

Why do you care so much that they are burning their own (assumed) property?

What am I running away from?

Are you unable to comprehend the difference between burning your own property and breaking into a store and then burning it down?

Can the arsonists use that excuse? Maybe they had your thought process...

I don't think Antifa and BLM are all that much of a threat to anyone but themselves, and anybody dumb, or unfortunate, enough to be near them while they're getting up to their riot rat shenanigans.

The main reason why they're not a real threat though, to like life and limb, is because they're utterly incompetent slacktivists. They're not really out to hurt anyone, they're just kids LARPing for the fun of it. When they do end up killing or maiming, it's usually out of bumbling idiocy, rather than actual malice.

BLM and Antifa may not have much of a body count, but they do, however, cause a LOT of damage with their riot ratting. Lots and lots of damage. Billions of dollars in destruction and lost wages. They hold entire neighborhoods hostage with their lunacy.

Right wing extremists ARE more dangerous, mainly because they, unlike BLM and Antifa, actually know how to operate firearms and weapons. They're more lethal, but they're certainly nowhere near as destructive as BLM and Antifa.

That said, there just aren't enough Illinois Nazis to pose much of a threat. Like I already pointed out, 38 victims in a year is a joke when compared to the thousands and thousands of victims black street crime claim every year.

If BLM and Antifa ever managed to muster up the motivation to actually figure how weapons work, and they got motivated to do anything more serious than make a lot of noise and break things, then they would pose a serious threat, because there are so many of the kooky buggers running around.

Won't happen though. Like I said- slacktivists.

    Now THAT is a kneeslapper.

There's that bumbling idiocy I was talking about in my post above.

So you don’t grasp burning your own property vs destroying someone else's privately owned property.

    Fascinating

If I had 200k in Student Loan debt and my Masters Degree in Social Justice Warrior with my BA being in Grievance Studies only qualified me for a McDonalds manager job I'd be pissed to...

This is rather obtuse cd8ed, not your usual style.

“Books are not absolutely dead things, but do contain a potency of life in them as to be as active as that soul was whose progeny they are,”

“Who kills a man kills a reasonable creature, God's image; but he who destroys a good book, kills reason itself, kills the image of God, as it were, in the eye."

    ~John Milton, Paradise Lost, Areopagitica.

This isn’t some unique manuscript, it is a mass produced book with thousands of translations, over 5 billion have been sold.

Speaking of obtuse... thats a stretch

It's the babylonbee. You are probably correct, if not, you are close.

    It's satire.

You still haven’t been able to identify who “those people” are, so I have no idea.
Could be to rebel against their parents, could be to protest the dominant religion, could have been to show dissatisfaction that religious groups sucked up a huge amount of “small” business aid, could have been to express outrage of the pedophile scandals that have plagued the church...

Or, in this age of purposely and gleefully doing things just to antagonize your political opponents; it could have been to trigger neocons.
    Seems to have worked.

NOW THEY’RE BURNING BIBLES IN PORTLAND: What does burning Bibles have to do with “protesting” in Portland? Nothing at all, but it does show everything we need to know about the rioters true intention. Not that there was ever any doubt about that.

Here is a great opportunity for Christians to love their enemies.
