Yes...BUT when I say "identifies with" I mean they look the part. In my opinion this is the best solution for this Can of worms. So basically if you look like a girl then use the women's room. You look like a guy then use the men's room. What I Definitely DO NOT want to see is some dude who looks unmistakably like a Man in the Ladies room. Transgenders need to use only one restroom - not have the luxury of whichever one they so desire. You know, just like regular people.

 

I have to admit that I am surprised by your opinion. The question becomes: How do you convince the proud-white-straight-Christian-conservative-Americans that your course of action is best? Because it is the proud-white-straight-Christian-conservative-Americans that are currently passing laws making the very thing you are talking about a criminal offense.

Chill out, bro. I only threw that out there like that because of the avatar of the person to whom I was responding. But since you want to take exception to the characterization, let's take a closer look.

The poster I replied to describes himself as a "Proud white straight Christian conservative American patriot" while simultaneously supporting the position that transgenders should use the restroom assigned to the gender with which they identify, instead of their biological sex. Now where have we recently heard about laws making that very thing a criminal action? North Carolina is the most recent. Who makes up the NC legislature? They are overwhelmingly white Christian conservatives.

The women in the club bathroom aren't passing these laws. The "Hispanic community" didn't magically take over state legislatures and force them to pass these laws. I don't care what some hoodrats may or may not do. The police can deal with that and those hoodrats have no power outside of their tiny bubbles. The government on the other hand is a different story entirely.

The fact of the matter is that the majority of the people wringing their hands over which bathroom people are using ARE "proud" white Christians just like the poster to whom I was speaking. If you have an issue with that then you have an issue with reality.

PS. And quite frankly, I'm just trying to see how consistent this guy is, since it appears as if he isn't abreast of all of the political goings-on surrounding this issue right now. If he manages to maintain his position then I'll have some modicum of respect for him and be quite surprised to boot. If he jumps ship after getting up to speed about what he is expected by "his team" to believe...well let's just say I won't be shocked.

 

Actually you will find white christians to be more accepting of LGBT lifestyles than you will Black christians. Whites protestants and Catholics are heavily in favor of gay marriage for example, meanwhile Black protestants and white Evangelicals are the main one who oppose it with very low numbers. Whites overall favor it by 58% meanwhile blacks overall are at 39% in favor.

I think this new way of thinking is great. Physiology and societal norms are simply not as important as what people think inside their heads. It's going to save us a lot of money in the long run. In criminal cases we can forego all the nonsense about physical evidence - we can simply ask people if they are criminals and we only need to incarcerate the ones who think they are. Why waste time and money with evidence? We can also eliminate the ridiculous titles and authorities associated with hierarchical societies - in the classroom, whoever feels like they should be the teacher can be the teacher; in the workplace, whoever feels like they are the boss can be the boss. We should not let the arbitrary constructs of academic credentials or subject matter competence restrict who gets to teach or who gets to be in charge. After all, teaching certificates, college degrees, position titles, even money itself are all inventions of man and no individual should limit him/herself to what they can do simply because they don't have some external mark of authenticity! If nature itself can be defied by the mere decision inside a person's head, so can all these other unjust forms of control! So yes, dress and act like a man, even though you don't have a penis, and go do man-things, except when you want to do woman-things, because it's up to you!
