You should have started off your thread, "I feel uncomfortable around other races/ethnicities."

I like other races and ethnicities. I like to travel. I don't like the hassle of traveling but I do like to go meet different people and see different things. I would find life excruciatingly boring if all I did was hang out with people that are just like me. I've met people from other cultures and they have been very warm and welcoming. Frankly meeting girls from different cultures is great. There is plenty of stuff to talk about. Things that are fairly mundane to girls that grew up on your block are new and interesting to foreign girls. If you can't have a solid two hour conversation with a pretty foreign girl you are brain dead.

 

I thought it was self evident. They are white and Jewish, and they mostly hang out with other white Jews while shouting DIVERSITY. They are hypocrites. Also, BTW, they are social justice Democrats who don't like paying taxes and shelter as much of their wealth as possible, like every other rich democrat I have ever known. Hypocrisy is the "and?".

 

So? Let them be friends with whomever they want to be friends with. Race means nothing to me.

 

I don't give a hang who they choose as friends, just don't be preaching multicultural bilge for everyone but yourself. I sincerely would not care if they hate all other religions or ethnicities just lose the stupid bumper sticker on your gas guzzler and stop pretending you are inclusive because you aren't. YOU as in THEM, obviously.

 

It's not the choice of friends that makes them able to accept diversity. It's that they'll work with other people, regardless of race, and not care. I don't have many black friends, but I don't mind hanging around them. Same thing for Jewish, Hindu, Hispanic, everyone.

 

I don't feel uncomfortable around anyone; so, why would I post that? But please, continue to presume to know me. You obviously missed the point of the whole rest of the discussion. I am not other people. I only understand how other people think and what other people think out of context. I would rather people feel comfortably honest around me and free to tell me what they think or to (*)(*)(*)(*) off (which you have essentially done with your small minded statement).

As to the second, I don't need you to prove to me that you're not a closet racist. I don't care. Next, you're going to tell me about all your purple, orange, or green friends because I'm supposed to defend myself by talking about how I am more diverse than you. Unfortunately, I like to stay on topic.

Yeah, but this implies that everyone else can't do this. Which is dishonest and untrue. I think the hypocrisy Leatherface is pointing out is important to note because it illustrates a very obvious rift between the rhetoric and the actions.

If the question is..... Is the initial posters remarks racist. Then No. I don't think it is. And nationalism is not a bad thing either. I just wonder why nationalism is a bad thing only for america. Every other counytry can be nationalistic and it's okay.

I saw a scary thread that had something to do with Bane coming to America if we kept on putting religion inside of government (I'm not sure how that's accomplished since religion is an idea and government is not a box to put things in)

 

I'm an Anglo Saxon Australian. I'm happy and proud to be Australian, I could imagine being anything else. I live in SE Asian and I have Caucasian friends and work colleagues here. I hang out more with my Asian friends than with my Caucasian friends.

I'm not "diverse." 99% of my blood relatives are pretty much one ethnicity.

No, actually, not "racist" in the slightest. Racism entails a belief in the superiority of one's race over another by virtue of inherent racial traits and characteristics. Nowhere was such a belief stated or implied.
