Looks like the U.K. will never be able to have freedom of gun ownership now

Are you referring to Elaine Parent?

Well that's a start, so well done.
The heavily obvious ones are probably the least likely to be up to something nefarious.....

Yes, if one is going to have loose gun laws generally, CCW under licence would be part of the "least worst" design. It makes little sense to me to openly identify people who are more vulnerable than others. There is also a potential "de-escalation" effect from having fewer visible guns around.

Nonetheless, the crimes are not significantly lower than countries with tight gun laws.

A decrease from, say, 100 to 80 is a big wow, but what is important is either that 100 or 80 compared to say, 5.

    Why ?
I received various medals, a horrible person was sent on to an even higher Court......
A real feather in ones cap.
A crowning glory for ones retirement years.....
And all you can do is be insulting ?
I doubt you have as many medals in an assortment of Nations.......
Do you have even one medal for anything ?
    I don't think so.

Well, isn't it interesting that in many states that have enacted "Constitutional carry" - i.e. citizens empowered to carry concealed defensive sidearms without needing to petition the state for permission first - the per capita homicide rate is downright European....

    West European or East European?
Would you have a reference for that claim?

The Labor Brits and other multicultural Liberals in the UK and EU need to be very cautious, just the same as if they were were to have a collection of deadly snakes in their home and around their children. They can monitor the snakes, try to make their cages safe---but snakes being snakes---some will eventually escape and harm others in the house, or turn and bite their keeper.

    Stupid is as stupid does.

He's referring to an actual case. It was an interesting one, if I get the reference, of Elaine Parent, the Chameleon, or Chameleon Killer, something like that, if I remember correctly. Thought I saw a trailer for a movie or TV mini series about it a year ago...not sure if it released. Unusual, but true story of a woman serial killer.

If you are unable to defend your children and family unless you have a gun, I would not boast about it!

    Really ???
When I was 10 years old, We summered at a nice cottage on a very nice 100 acres, streams with fish, a swimming pool, everything a boy could want and enjoy, hunting, Deer.....

One day, swimming in the pool, a Sheriffs car drove up, the Deputies asked if we had Guns, We did not, My Mother and Father were Anti Gun, the Deputies warned us that 2 escaped convicts were seen in the woods, and to stay alert, they showed us pictures of the two men, and warned us of the danger those desperate men posed, that we should Arm ourselves if possible, and if those convicts showed up, and if they were in any way threatening, Shoot them !

It was then I was fully convinced that Gun Control was a load of Bull Turds...........
At the young age of 10.....

Inferences from a member of the herd won't work on me.
I have survived direct threats on my life... I will go with what I know works.

Such tender sensibilities! Which country lost most people to a single terrorist attack, can you remind me?

The world is a dangerous place, and nothing will ever change that fact. Not only are there dangerous individuals who will murder you where you stand simply because they want to, there are also vicious animals that will regard you as nothing more than a walking piece of meat fit to be devoured.

Depending on how one defines acts of terror, and does not limit it exclusively to acts of foreign agents, it would be the nation of Germany.

And yet you bemoan those who have good reason to believe that a firearm is necessary for effectively protecting not only themselves, but also their loved ones.
