If someone were to attack you physically, would you not fight back? If multiple someones were to attack you and your wife on the street, would you defend her with just your fists or would you pick up a cricket bat if one were handy? Does your family not deserve the most effective defense you can offer them?

 

Defense of home and family is a multi-faceted, multi-layered issue, and any responsible person who is serious about securing his family's safety will plan for as many possibilities as he can. Any honest analysis of the worst worse-case scenarios includes acknowledging the possibility of violent, murderous home-invasion and the need for the proper tools with which to meet it. Your snide dismissal shows nothing but that you refuse to face reality and have irresponsibly left your family fatally vulnerable. THAT is something where boasting is certainly out of place.

Well, just for example.... check out Vermont, a state with zero restrictions upon lawful carrying of defensive firearms. Per capita homicide rate of 1.8 versus a rate of 1.58 in France or 1.95 in Belgium. Interestingly, the Czech Republic, which is encouraging its citizens to be armed for self-defense, has a homicide rate of 0.75. Just goes to show that there are a lot of factors that contribute to violent crime and homicide rates...

 

An attack contributed to by the programming of the passengers on the aircraft to meekly submit and wait for it all to be over instead of fighting back. The citizens on Flight 93 deserve kudos for at least trying to fight back and retake the plane. They tragically lost their lives, but saved an untold number of lives in the process by preventing the plane from being flown to its intended target.

 

I just roll my eyes when the antis make comments like that. I think it says far more about them and their deviant thoughts than it says about people who believe in the right to bear arms. I've been around firearms my whole life, introduced by a grandfather in law-enforcement and a father and uncles who all served in the military. I enjoy the sport of shooting and I take interest in the history and in the collecting of firearms... and I have never found anything remotely sexual in it. Of course, when you look at the other things people who hate guns advocate for, you see that the obsession with abnormal sex is a common thread....

 

The last time I went swimming was when a group of friends and family hiked up into the mountains and camped next to a lake. There were bears in the area, so the answer to that question seems obvious....

 

So you do not need Guns to defend against bears and Armed criminals ?

If the World is a dangerous place, you need Guns.

Ironic in a thread full of Americans telling the UK they need guns. You do as you must, I couldn't really care less if you want to arm yourselves but stop telling us we need to, we don't.

 

It amazes me how someone can approach all gun owners and diesel truck enthusiasts and somehow convince them to present their penises for you to inspect. The truth is that it is only a weak attempt to trivialize the practice of defending our second amendment rights. No one is telling you to carry a gun if you choose not to.

You did notice you are on a forum based in the US? How many Americans log onto a UK forum talking ****? I imagine very few Americans troll UK forums in regards to gun rights.

 

even less troll Australian forums complaining about their collective meltdown towards guns over one insane active shooter. But we sure get Australians on this forum whining about our rights don't we. it just shows that the free world revolves around the USA even if residents of effete or has been nations pretend they are more enlightened than us "colonials"

 

By the way, I am sure you meant to say immigrant, a migrant, as in migrant worker, can be a native, that travels long distances, moving from one place of residence to another, seeking work.
